Top Fuel Driver Leah Pritchett Talks About NMCA and NHRA Sportsman Drag Racing with Dodge/Mopar and E3 Spark Plugs

In early March the gates opened for the 16th annual NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem as the 2018 NMCA Drag Racing Series, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, began its championship drag racing season. Of the nearly 30 Holley EFI Factory Super Cars in attendance there was one driver and team that seemed a bit different with their massive motorsports-style 18-wheeler and Dodge factory livery plastered all over it. Don Schumacher Racing's Top Fuel pilot Leah Pritchett has jumped into sportsman drag racing with both feet and brought along a Mopar/Dodge sponsored 2009 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. The team was instantly one of the contenders thanks to the supercharged 354ci Gen III HEMI engine and their crew chief 4X NHRA Stock/Super Stock champion Kevin Helms. Pritchett qualified well with an 8.13 at 167 mph performance, placing her tenth in the quickest and fastest field of all-time and she lost in the second second round of competition. During a brief rain delay on Saturday, we caught up with the NHRA Top Fuel star and talked about her new adventure in the Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
