15th Annual NMCA ALL-American Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis Thursday Coverage

Posted By: nmrasalesdept
The racers are coming into the track by the trailer load here at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, and this event marks not only the fourth stop on the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals series presented by E3 Spark Plugs, but also the Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, which is celebrating its 10th year. Joining the on-track action will be the Midwest Drift union, which will no doubt be burning some rubber inside the oval course, as well as a diesel truck pull, and of course, an awesome car show. If you can't drop by Hendricks County to check out all of the hot action at the track, be sure to stay tuned right here as we bring you all of the action from the pits and on track. 2 Andrew Alepa has been making waves in the radial tire game with his new Corvette, and he's here at the NMCA All-American Nationals to mix it up with the likes of DeWayne Mills, Daniel Pharris, Josh Klugger and more. Alepa's C7 Vette, which started out life as a factory showroom ride, is driven by Rob Valden and powered by a twin-turbocharged Pro Line Racing Hemi engine.   News3-2 Mickey Thompson Tires is on hand to take care of all of your radial and slick needs. Should be a busy weekend for these guys. 4 Entering the Wiseco Street Outlaw ranks this weekend is Kallee Mills, whose father DeWayne will be running his Golden Gorilla Camaro twin in Mickey Thompson Radial Wars this weekend. DeWayne has had both cars for some time, and when it came time for her to step out of her junior dragster into a full-size machine, she picked what was then her dad's blue Camaro. The 25.3 leaf spring suspension Camaro was taken to Matheis Race Cars is guywho changed it over to 25.2 spec with ladder bars. And as you might have noticed, powering this '68 F-body is a Pro Line Racing 427 LSX engine with a single 85mm Precision Turbo on it. The elder Mills had hoped to enter the car in Edelbrock Xtreme Street, but the sheet metal manifold that he had made so they could run a stock flat hood on the car isn't quite legal for the class. Kallee has had several test sessions with the car already, and has been as quick as 8.71 in the quarter mile. Though this will be her competition debut, the team is looking for solid A-B passes to get her accustomed to the car as they start to turn up the boost.
