Thursday Coverage—Mickey Thompson NMCA All-American Nationals

Posted By: Event Coverage Team
The test and tune session scheduled for today, Aug. 24, as part of the 22nd Annual Mickey Thompson NMCA All-American Nationals presented by Sick the Mag at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, has been cancelled.

More than four inches of rain have fallen over Summit Motorsports Park in the past 24 hours.

The Ohio CAT Gate on State Route 601 is open today for racers, and between storms, officials will park as many as possible on that side. Others will be directed to drive through the park to line up on the asphalt on the other side of the track, which is the Summit side. Please do not park or operate motorized vehicles, including golf carts and scooters, on the grass as it is saturated and they will become stuck or damage the grass, and please do not pound stakes into the asphalt anywhere throughout the park.

Gates will close at the scheduled time of 7 p.m. tonight,, but please note that overnight stacking will not be available due to flooding. Please make plans now to find another place to park on your way to the track if your arrival will be after 7 p.m. tonight.

Gates are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. tomorrow, but please watch our website or Facebook page for updates as this is a fluid situation. We will shoot for one test hit in the morning and then go into qualifying. A revised schedule is forthcoming and will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page.

NMCA and Summit Motorsports Park apologize for this weather-related inconvenience, and we look forward to great weather and racing Friday-Sunday!

Here is a look at Friday's schedule, which is subject to change if we get more rain overnight.
