National Parts Depot Backs Small-Tire Muscle Machines Racing In NMCA’s F.A.S.T. Classes

If one group in the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals series will take fans and racers back to the future, it is the Factory Appearing Stock Tire category. It is where you will see perfectly restored F.A.S.T. muscle cars compete in the quarter mile on stock-style tires but running elapsed times far quicker than they did in the old days. This season, National Parts Depot stepped up to sponsor this popular category.

“Seeing these gorgeous muscle cars running unbelievably quick on the drag strip is a delightful sight at select NMCA events,” Steve Wolcott, President and CEO of NMCA, said. “National Parts Depot, which offers a comprehensive line of restoration parts for vehicles from this era, is the perfect fit to sponsor this fan-favorite category.”

F.A.S.T. racing features vintage muscle cars that appear showroom stock, including the body, interior, engine, and all external components and manifolds, even the wheels and original 1960s-style, skinny bias-ply tires. These museum-quality rides cover the quarter mile in 13 to 9 seconds at speeds as fast as 130 mph.  There are 2 classes in the overall F.A.S.T. category which are the NPD Fast class presented by Horsepower Depot and the NPD Factory Stock class presented by Cor-a-Vent.

“National Parts Depot is all about factory stock (and stock-appearing) muscle cars! Sure, we offer aftermarket performance parts, but our bread and butter (and our passion) is stock — the way these cars came off the assembly line,” Colin Date, Director of Marketing at National Parts Depot, said. “And if the cars can be modified to perform significantly better than when they were new, and still appear stock, all the better!”

Watch the National Parts Depot F.A.S.T. racers compete three times during the 2023 Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals season at the TorqStorm Superchargers NMRA/NMCA Power Festival Presented by Paul's High Performance at US 131 Motorsports Park from July 20-23; the Mickey Thompson NMCA All-American Nationals Presented by Sick the Mag at Summit Motorsports Park from August 24-27; and the NMCA World Street Finals Presented by Chevrolet Performance at Lucas Oil Raceway from September 21-24.

“At NPD, we’re blessed with having hardcore car guys serving our customers,” Date added. “Not only do we offer factory-correct restoration and high-performance parts, but we can also lend our years of experience working on and restoring these incredible muscle cars. It’s all about offering our customers the right parts and the best advice.”
