Jeff Rudolf Slays Personal Best with Big Pro Mod Blast at NMCA Michigan

Posted By: Ainsley Jacobs
Currently sitting third in NMCA VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod points, Jeff Rudolf slayed his prior personal best with a big blast during the 3rd Annual TorqStorm Superchargers NMRA/NMCA Power Festival Presented by Paul's High Performance event at Michigan’s US 131 Motorsports Park in late July.

Piloting his ProCharger supercharged “Ghetto Sleigh” 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built by Larry Jeffers Race Cars and powered by a ProLine Racing 545 cubic inch HEMI engine, Rudolf clicked off a cool 3.623 at 206.80 mph run during the second qualifying session of the event on Friday evening.

“It was also an official record-breaking ET, but I forgot to claim it at the end of the run,” shared Rudolf, who clinched the top qualifying honors for the weekend. “The same thing happened in Indy when I had the turbos with the speed record, too. I forgot but went back the next day and broke it again and claimed it.”

Rudolf recently had RK Racecraft make a new front end for his car which lightened it up by 18 pounds. “We were able to move that weight where we wanted it,” said the driver, who also had RK fabricate a new set of zoomies. “Both of these changes resulted in my new personal best and number one qualifier in Michigan.”

When eliminations began, Rudolf was gifted a bye run as a result of his impressive performance and covered the eighth-mile in 3.643-seconds. In round two, his 3.671 at 205.76 mph trip defeated Tom Ladisky, but Rudolf ultimately went out in round three with a 3.762 at 202.52 mph effort to Mike DiDomenico’s 3.681 at 208.43 mph pass.

Other important components in Rudolf’s record-setting combination include a Turbo 400 and torque converter from M&M transmission, FuelTech FT600 engine management system, Menscer Motorsports front shocks, Kinetic Engineering rear struts, and a Larry Jeffers rear end housing with Lazarus gears.

With two races still yet to go for the 2023 season, Rudolf is on a roll to move up as he hunts for his first championship title in NMCA VP Racing Lubricants Xtreme Pro Mod.
