2022 NMCA Muscle Car Nationals Championship Categories, Specialty Classes, & Preliminary Rules

As we enter the final months of 2021 and continue celebrating the champions and Top 10 finishers, the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals is gearing up for 2022. Listed below are the Championship categories for 2022, which will be featured at all six NMCA National events. Below the championship categories is a rundown of the specialty categories for 2022. Preliminary rules for the 2022 season have been released and can be found <HERE>, racers have until November 15, 2022 to submit comments and information to the NMCA Tech department via email to [email protected].

Please Note: Xtreme Street Preliminary Rules are still being evaluated and will be posted in the coming weeks. The 2022 Specialty Categories:
  • X275 NMRA/NMCA will be hosting three RTRA Championship Points Series competitions in 2022 at Rockingham, NC, St. Louis, and Martin, Michigan
  • TorqStorm True Street will be featured at all six NMCA National events.
  • Dodge//Mopar HEMI Shootout and Arrington Performance HEMI Quick 8 Presented by Red Line Oil will be hosted at all six NMCA National events.
  • Cobra Jet Showdown returns to Norwalk, Ohio
  • The Chevrolet Performance COPO Battle continues to be hosted by the NMCA at Norwalk, Ohio
  • The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout and Real Street Shootout will once again be part of the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing in St. Louis.
  • Dave Duell Classic and NSS All-Star Shootout will be continue at Indianapolis
  • The NMCA will run the Bracket Open at Bradenton, Florida, Rockingham, NC, St. Louis, and Marin, Michigan
  • The NMCA World Street Finals will host Pro Bracket and Sportsman Bracket in Indianapolis.
  • F.A.S.T. and F.A.S.T. Factory Stock will be run at the Martin MI, Norwalk, OH and Indianapolis events.
NMCA kicks off the year once again at the fabled Bradenton Motorsports Park March 17-20. The tour then moves north to Rockingham Dragway for the massive NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals April 21-24. Theres big action in May at the Gateway to the West when the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing takes place at World Wide Technology Raceway May 12-15. Following a brief mid-season break is the NMRA/NMCA Power Festival at US 131 Motorsports Park over the weekend of July 21-24. Summit Motorsports Park plays host once again to the prestigious NMCA All-American Nationals August 25-28. The season concludes at Lucas Oil Raceway, just outside of Indianapolis, with the NMCA World Street Finals September 22-25.
