Xtreme Pro Mod Soon to See another Biehle

Posted By: Mike Galimi
After driving his gorgeous Grabber Blue 2013 Mustang to the 2015 NMCA VP Racing Fuels Pro Mod championship, Michael Biehle, II climbed into a Grabber Blue 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500 built by Bickel Race Cars and headed toward NMCA VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod and NHRA Pro Mod. He has blasted to a best of 3.88 in the eighth-mile, 5.82 in the quarter-mile and a runner-up at the NMCA race in Georgia in April, and he's currently fifth in NHRA points with his eyes on a top ten finish. That's proof positive that the powerful driver has a powerful combination in his ProLine-built 526 cubic-inch Hemi engine, twin 88mm Precision turbos, M&M Transmission-built Pro Mod three-speed Turbo 400 and ProTorque converter, and now, he's preparing to take part in the 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals featuring the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series, Aug. 26-28, 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. I enjoy running both the NMCA and the NHRA, but the NMCA is like my home series, so to speak, said Biehle, II. Both series have very good competition, and when you go to either an NMCA race or an NHRA race, you better bring your A-game. While he continues to focus on racing his 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500-bodied car, his sister, Allie Biehle, who has experience racing Michael's 9-second Fox body Mustang and who just wrapped up sessions at Frank Hawley Drag Racing School, will climb into the driver's seat of his 2013 Mustang. Biehle 2 The car, which was damaged after a part failure forced Biehle, II to go into the sandtraps at the Shakedown at the Summit at Summit Motorsports Park last September, spent time over winter at Bickel Race Cars, where its chassis was sandblasted and inspected to be sure it was not compromised. While it was there, Bickel replaced some bars in the front of the car and added some titanium components, including bolts, fuel cell mount and tree, and placed a new body on the chassis. It was returned to Biehle, II about a month ago, and it has been re-painted Grabber Blue by Jeff Hoskins. The faithful ProLine-built 481X engine which had been in the car has been put back in it, along with 88mm Precision turbos and an M&M Transmission-built Pro Mod three-speed Turbo 400, and the plan is for big brother to shake it down late this year before little sister takes the wheel in NMCA VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod next year. I'm really excited, but if I said I wasn't nervous at the same time, I'd be lying, said Biehle. These cars are fast, but my brother, Michael, and our tuner, Jamie Miller, will help me get to where I need to be. Michael is a good driver, and I'd like to follow in his footsteps. Biehle 3
