On Saturday the car show was packed with gorgeous machines from Camaros and Grand Nationals to Mustangs and Cobras there was something for every automotive fan to enjoy.
Riding the momentum from his win at the season opener, Vince Palazzolo isn't making any significant changes to his VP Racing Fuels/Mickey Thompson Street Outlaw machine. He earned the number-two qualified spot this weekend on the merit of a 4.39 at 162.02 mph, and he looks to make consistent runs in eliminations in hopes of making a return trip to the Aerospace Components Winner's Circle.
There is a thriving manufacturer's midway at Atlanta Dragway for the 11th Annual Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals. All manner of companies are on hand showing off their wares and offering tech support.
Gear Vendors/QAI True Street action was as heavy as always, and this time around, Dana Beaty was the overall winner with an 8.98 average in a Mustang and Jason Beardslee was the runner-up with a 9.08 average in a Mustang. Dustin Edwards ran to the 9-second win, Rick Baum ran to the 10-second win and Cody Poston ran to the 11-second win, while Michael Dabbs earned the 12-second win, Randy Pethel earned the 13-second win, Tyler Thorburg earned the 14-second win, and rounding things out in the completely cool category was Allen Smith with the 15-second win. The Chevrolet Street Car Challenge commanded plenty of attention this weekend, and when it wrapped up, Greg Trail emerged as the overall winner with a 10.27 average in a Corvette, and Kyle Rainey was the runner-up with an 10.75 average in a Camaro. Harry King was the 10-second winner in a Camaro, Kevin Rowand was the the 11-second winner in a Corvette and Tom Calabrese was the 12-second winner in a Camaro while Oscor Campes was the 13-second winner in a Camaro. The Dodge // Mopar HEMI Shootout saw David Clarke cruise to the overall win with a 9.52 average in a Hellcat and Todd Chasson collect the runner-up with a 10.15 average in a Demon. Richard Stimson was the 10-second winner, David Hamilton was the 11-second winner, Robert Pitt was the 12-second winner, Mike Smith was the 13-second winner and Michael Oellrich was the 14-second winner. Later today, the eight quickest drivers in the category will take to the starting line for the Arrington Performance HEMI Quick 8 presented by Red Line Oil.David Hamilton of nearby Canon, Georgia has been having fun in the The Dodge // Mopar HEMI Shootout this weekend, and at the same time, showcasing the strength of his 2017 Charger Daytona. The bright and beautiful car boasts a 392 cubic-inch engine and a bottle of nitrous, and it helped Hamilton haul to the 11-second win in the category, despite running out of nitrous on one of his passes. Now, as one of the eight quickest drivers in the category, he's preparing to take part in the Arrington Performance HEMI Quick 8 presented by Red Line Oil.

His first outing of the season was here at the 11th Annual Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals, where the car was running well. This weekend he is running on an 11.25 index, but he says it will dip into the 10s depending on how much nitrous he sprays.
