Jacky McCarty may have been new to NMCA Wiseco Street Outlaw in 2016, but he was well aware of what it would take to win. He proved it at the first race of the season, the 14th Annual Ross Racing Pistons NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem at Bradenton Motorsports Park in March, where he qualified third with a 4.51 at 163 mph in his black LSX- and Precision turbo-powered 92 Mustang. He shook things up by climbing into his black 91 Mustang GT at the 15th Annual Quick Fuel Technology Blue Grass Nationals at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky in May, where he qualified second with a 4.42 at 174 mph and finished as the runner-up in the car which he had been racing and winning in in X275 and Super Street ranks across the country. It features a 400 cubic-inch small-block Ford which his company, McCarty Performance, built with help from ProLine, and it's topped with billet canted valve heads by McCarty Performance and a sheetmetal intake by Marcella Manifolds. Added kick comes from a 98mm or 94mm Precision turbo, depending on weather and track conditions, and an M&M Transmission-built Turbo 400 and ProTorque converter spin below. Josh Lindsey relies on a FuelTech engine management system to tune the combination, and the alluring car rolls on 275 Mickey Thompson drag radials. McCarty went on to win at the events at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana in June, Route 66 Raceway in Illinois in July and Summit Motorsports Park in Ohio in August, and as a result and as the ultimate prize he earned the 2016 NMCA Wiseco Street Outlaw championship. My family and crew had a great time this year running with NMCA and NMRA and we are very much looking forward to next year, said McCarty, who went three rounds in VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw and secured an eighth place finish in NMRA points at the 18th Annual Nitto NMRA All Ford World Finals, Sept. 28-Oct. 2, 2016 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky. Racing with this class has been probably the most fun we have had racing in years, and everyone is like family. McCarty whose teammate Henry Lee wrecked in his own Mustang and then borrowed McCarty's 92 Mustang for the final race of the season to secure a fifth place finish in NMCA Edelbrock Xtreme Street and other champions will be celebrated during the NMCA Awards Ceremony Dec. 9 at the Indiana Convention Center.
