Shop Crane by Gorbel Makes Life In the Garage A Little Easier And A Lot Lighter

Posted By: nmrasalesdept
Shop Crane is a non-industrial, overhead bridge crane system that uses two parallel steel tracks, or runways, to guide a steel bridge over your work space. The bridge features a non-binding trolley that glides along the inside of the enclosed track to give you complete coverage within the frame of the system. By spreading the weight of the load over the bridge and runways of the crane, moving and positioning a full 1000 or 2000 pound load becomes a safe and easy one-person job. Shop Crane is available in multiple configurations that were tailored to maximize the space of standard garages. When selecting a configuration for your shop, the primary dimensions you will choose are the system's span and height.

Lifting Capacity

The lifting capacity of all Shop Crane systems is 1,000 or 2,000 pounds for a live load. This means that the weight of your choice in lifting device has been factored in and does not count against the available capacity. Floor Crane Specifications from the front

Span

Available with 8-, 10- and 12-foot spans, the span, or width of the crane, is measured from the inside of a support column to the inside of the opposing column. For example, a system with an 8-foot span would perfectly fit a garage door with an 8-foot clearance.

Height

Available with 8-, 10- and 12-foot heights. The actual overall height is 2-inches shorter than the displayed height to allow for free bridge movement beneath the ceiling. For example, a system with an 12 height would move freely in a garage with a 12-foot-high ceiling. Lifting Devices Specifications from the side

Length

All Shop Cranes were designed to fit the depth of a single stall garage, and have a standard length of 190 inches, or 15 10 , from the outside edges of the column baseplates. You can also splice two Shop Cranes together with a splice kit. For more details, visit www.ShopCrane.com. At the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Race Pages' Mike Galimi spoke with Shop Crane's Tim Loughlin about the Shop Crane and all of it's capabilities for the DIY'er or the commercial shop user.
