Scoggin-Dickey Race Shop's New Billet 572ci Blown Big-Block Chevy Crate Engine

While Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center is a well-known company offering all manner of Chevrolet Performance Parts, crate engines, and more, the company also has a custom engine building division known as Scoggin-Dickey Race Shop. At the 2019 Performance Racing Industry Show held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Scoggin-Dickey debuted its latest Race Shop creation, a 572 cubic-inch, big-block Chevy-based engine that is adorned with a big blower for the utmost in horsepower and torque. Building off the company's successful Top Dragster supercharged engine combination, which utilized a conventional steel block, cast aluminum heads, and a ProCharger centrifugal supercharger, Scoggin-Dickey Race Shop contacted Energy Manufacturing and started a new build using Energy Manufacturing's billet cylinder block and heads, along with one of its billet intake manifolds. In this video below, Scoggin-Dickey's Alan Bracey explains to Race Pages Digital's Mike Galimi how this new build is a step beyond the popular Top Dragster combination, offering 2,500 hp and 1,700 lb-ft of torque. Feeding this beast are two injectors per cylinder and a ProCharger F3R-136 supercharger, and engine management for the combination comes from a FuelTech EFI system that was tweaked on the engine dyno to obtain the final power output. As Scoggin-Dickey Race Shop is a custom engine builder, the company can also rework its new 572 big-block power plant for use with twin turbochargers if you prefer to go that route with your engine combination. Whether it's a 500hp LS-based crate engine or 2,000-plus-horsepower big-block power plant or anything in between, Scoggin-Dickey Race Shop has you covered when it comes to high-performance engines.
