NMCA To Invade Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park For Season Finale
This coming September 22-25, the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals heads to historic Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to crown its champions at the final event of 2022. Racers will compete in over 15 categories with a mix of heads-up, Index and bracket racing. NMCA drag racers will have the opportunity to compete head-to-head on what is arguably the most famous drag strip in the world.
Opened in 1960 with assistance from the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), the drag strip on the grounds was the first track to be completed (there is also a circle track and defunct road course on the property), with the facility's first event held on the strip in the fall of 1960.
This past weekend racers competed at the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals, held every year during the Labor Day weekend. The famous drag strip has held the US Nationals every year since 1961 and winning any race there is special. Iconic racers including Don “Big Daddy” Garlits, Warren Johnson, John Force and many more have hoisted a “Wally” at Indy.
This September, NMCA racers will get the chance to drive under the famous cross-over bridge, take to the quarter-mile and compete for an NMCA “Victor” trophy along with cash, prizes and championship points at the Red Line Oil NMCA World Street Finals.
