Launching the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals in the Florida sun is a long-standing tradition, and in 2023 the action will begin at Orlando Speed World for the first time in series history.
“With spectator and enthusiast demand for more motorsport features at each event, NMCA has struck a partnership with Orlando Speed World that includes the opportunity for championship and street car drag racing as well as future development of more diverse event features for next year and beyond,” explained Steve Wolcott, President and CEO of NMCA.
As home to one of the longest-running door-slammer events in the country, OSW is well equipped to support NMCA’s diverse portfolio of classes including the crowd-favorite VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod, as well as opening up the opportunity for the expansion of more automotive action.
“Pro Mod racing originated in Orlando decades ago, so for the NMCA to come here is a really great opportunity for us with something different and at the same time having this type of racing where it belongs,” said Ozzy Moya, owner of Orlando Speed World.
With heads-up drag racing, index racing, True Street action, an expansive car show, and a robust manufacturer’s midway, NMCA’s season opener will offer something for every racing and automotive enthusiast. And, beginning next year, the OSW facility will offer a path to expanding those offerings.
“We keep improving the track to make way for events like NMCA to come to Orlando…” said Moya. “We have a popular quarter-mile drag strip and our oval track has been used for sprint car racing and has been home to Formula Drift for the last six years. We’ve done concerts in the oval, and we’ve done a lot of different stuff over there, opening the avenue for future endeavors.”
The Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals launches its season with the 21st Annual NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem running from March 16-19, 2023, at Orlando Speed World.
