E3 Spark Plugs and the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals are pleased to announce the return of the Ford Performance Cobra Jet Showdown Presented by Diversified Products Marketing, a special event to be run in conjunction with the 16th Annual Honeywell Garrett NMCA All-American Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, August 24-27, 2017. All 2008-2017 Cobra Jet owners are invited to participate with the opportunity to compete in the Cobra Jet Showdown Friday/Saturday and the NMCA bracket race on Sunday. The weekend kicks off in style following Friday's Cobra Jet Showdown qualifying with the Watson Racing Cobra Jet Racer Appreciation Happy Hour at Summit Motorsports Park. Last year 150 racers, crew, family members, sponsors, and media attended this special event. The next day Cobra Jet racers will be treated to a midday luncheon courtesy of Diversified Products Marketing. "Since 2011 the Cobra Jet Showdown has been a huge success and we are happy to have the opportunity to bring even more Cobra Jet owners together for 2017. The Cobra Jet Showdown gives all owners the opportunity to experience their Cobra Jets and interact with the community of fellow owners and Ford Performance staff," said Steve Wolcott, NMCA president & CEO. "It's a unique opportunity that all Cobra Jet owners should participate in and an excellent show for all fans of production based racing. The Cobra Jet Showdown class will pay $1,000 to win + custom Victor award presented in the Aerospace Components Winners Circle. The Showdown is scheduled to be completed on Saturday, August 26^th, so competitors can travel on Sunday to Indy to get in line for the NHRA U.S. Nationals. Competitors staying Sunday will receive a free entry into the bracket race.
