Nitto Tire Diamond Tree Rings Up for Grabs at NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing

Posted By: Event Coverage Team
All roads lead to World Wide Technology Raceway the weekend of May 13-16, 2021, for the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing Presented by HPJ Performance. Both series will be racing hard with Nitto Tire Diamond Tree champion rings being rewarded to all championship class winners. This is the biggest event on the schedule and its new home is World Wide Technology Raceway, right at the edge of the Mississippi River and a gateway to the west. This central location draws racers from diverse areas that are new to the NMRA and NMCA, further solidifying this event as a premier competition, said Rollie Miller, General Manager and National Event Director for the Holley NMRA Ford Nationals and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals. A runoff format normally takes place at the end of the event and it has been tweaked over the years from individual competition to a team challenge and even varying degrees of rule adjustments for the shootout. New for 2021 will be the presentation of Nitto Tire Diamond Tree rings to championship class winners from each series instead of the showdown. We know some racers enjoyed facing rival categories on the other side, however the competition has become lopsided over the years, explained Miller. Last year the event moved to World Wide Technology Raceway, though it was marred by rain, the event was a rousing success. The facility is one of the most recognizable in the sport from a professional staff to its world-class facility. It's located outside of St. Louis, just over the border in Madison, Illinois, and has been the site of legendary drag racing events over the last several decades.
