In the latter, he pushed his car packing a Wegner Motorsports-built 350 cubic-inch COPO engine to a 10.00 and is currently qualified in the top spot going into today's qualifying. Tim Liberty, who's running 1320 Wheels True Street and Three Pedals Rumble in his 67 Chevy II wagon, was first in line when 1320 Wheels True Street was called to the lanes today. The Mount Prospect, Illinois resident, who's been averaging 11.70s this weekend, rustled up an 11.65 via his 6.0L LS engine which has minimal modifications.
As part of today's Car Craft Engine Swap Challenge, which is currently in progress, two teams were chosen to bring their vehicles, remove their engines and replace them with LS engines. The team that completes the swap first will win the engine and related Holley and Hooker components. If the team members were feeling any pressure from the number of fans watching while they were wrenching, they didn't show it.

This '81 Camaro and its 5.3 all-aluminum LS engine featuring Holley and Hooker components was put together by students of the Warren County Area Technology Center in Bowling Green, and according to proud principal Eric Keeling, it has so far made 360 hp on the dyno. This weekend, it's being driven by Mitch Wright, the director of the nearby National Corvette Museum in Pro-Touring/American Powertrain Track X, Lateral-G/QA1 Autocross and Baer/Super Chevy 3S.
Mere hours after wrapping up an overhaul on his '66 Fairlane 500 XL with help from his dad and son, Brian Allen climbed into the driver's seat and made the trip from Illinois to Kentucky to take part in this weekend's Grand Champion category, which means it's getting street time, strip time and autocross time all in one event. The car, which is painted Pepper Gray, like the Eleanor Mustang from the 2000 movie "Gone in 60 Seconds," is exceptionally clean inside and out, is powered by a 5.3L LS engine rather than a Ford bullet and has so far run low thirteens.
