The Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals is proud to announce HHP Racing as the sponsor of the HEMI Shootout Quick 8, bringing heads-up competition to the highly popular Gen III HEMI genre at all six national events in 2022.
The HHP Racing Quick 8 takes the top eight finishers from the Dodge//Mopar HEMI Shootout and puts them in a heads-up competition on Sunday to find out who is the King of the Hill in the Gen III HEMI world. The rules are simple—competitors must complete the HEMI Shootout on Saturday before moving into the Quick 8 eliminator on Sunday. The racers are placed on a Sportsman ladder using their average ET from the HEMI Shootout results.
“The HEMI Shootout is our most popular category in the NMCA and one that continues to grow year-over-year and the Quick 8 is a big part of the fun. HHP Racing is one of the top shops in that market, so to bring them in as the sponsor of the Quick 8 is quite an honor,” said Rollie Miller, National Event Director and General Manager of the Red Line Oil NMCA Muscle Car Nationals.
Josh Schwartz of HHP Racing shared his enthusiasm as well, “Year after year HHP has continued to push the envelope, constantly redefining the limits of this platform and we are excited to help grow the HEMI community at the NMCA and showcase the fastest modern Mopars out there with the HHP Racing HEMI Quick 8 Class.”
HHP Racing’s relationship with the NMCA goes back to 2008 when the two groups collaborated on the first-ever NMCA Late-Model HEMI Shootout. It was one of the first national events for the Gen III HEMI, giving the community a chance to show the world its capabilities on the drag strip. The NMCA kicks off its season March 17-20 at Bradenton Motorsports Park with the NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem Presented by Holbrook Racing Engines. Over 60 entries have already been reserved in the season opening Dodge//Mopar HEMI Shootout with six weeks to go before the gates open.
The series heads north for the second event of 2022 to the legendary Rockingham Dragway for the Scoggin Dickey Parts Center NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals Presented by MAHLE Motorsport April 21-24. The Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing Presented by HPJ Performance goes down May 12-15 at World Wide Technology Raceway, just outside of St. Louis.
The summer sizzles with the second half of the season when NMCA races into US 131 Motorsport Park (Martin, Michigan) for the Arrington Performance NMRA/NMCA Power Festival Presented by Force Engineering over the weekend of July 21-24. Fans and racers are dazzled for the fifth stop on tour when the series visits America’s Racetrack, Summit Motorsports Park, for the exciting NMCA All-American Nationals Presented by Sick the Magazine August 25-28. The championship season concludes with a stop at world-famous Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for the NMCA World Street Finals Presented by Chevrolet Performance over the weekend of September 22-25.
