The NMCA moved to Memphis International Raceway for its third stop of the 2019 NMCA Drag Racing Series presented by E3 Spark Plugs, and a special feature of the Comp Cams NMCA Memphis Homecoming event was the first-ever ATI Performance Products Memphis Muscle Car Madness presented by Deuce Machining, which pitted the Detroit Truetrac Nostalgia Muscle Car, Quick Fuel Technology Nostalgia Super Stock, and Coan Engineering Stock/Super Stock Combo classes against each other in a crazy, 32-car shootout! This was the first time that the NMCA's three classes all raced each other and it seemed like it was a big hit with the racers. The eliminator was comprised of the top ten qualifiers from each class plus two wild cards, and the 32-car shootout was run on Sunday due to inclement weather that shortened the Saturday schedule. The NSS and NMC classes ran their index that they qualified on, and the Stock/Super Stock racers picked one and used that for the entirety of the shootout. With over $2,600 in purse money awaiting the finalists in the Aerospace Components Winner's Circle, it was sure to be a real dogfight! The Coan Engineering Stock/Super Stock contingent suffered the heaviest casualties in round one and they, along with the Nostalgia Muscle Car group, once again accrued many losses on the second round. In the semifinals, it was the lone S3 Dodge Mopar Drag Pak of Dennis Breeden facing Nostalgia Muscle Car champ Andy Warren and the two Nostalgia Super Stock machines of Bruce Lang and TD Holland. Breeden turned on the red and Lang edged out Holland, despite giving up the starting line advantage. In the final round, it was Warren who grabbed the starting ling advantage over Lang, and who drove to the Aerospace Components Winner's Circle. And for added enjoyment on the trip home, Warren also collected the Nostalgia Muscle Car win as well. [envira-gallery id="13808"]
