Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series Sizzles at Summit Motorsports Park

The completely captivating Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series was a special component of the 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals Aug. 26-28, 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. In JE Pistons Drag Radial, Andy Essary ran a 4.44 and took a trip to the top of the qualifying ladder in his 02 Trans Am. He took it all the way and won with a 4.46 in the final, while Joe DeDona got way loose in his '03 Corvette, but managed to keep it off the retaining walls.Essery CP Drag Radial copy Camren Massengale has been commanding attention in Holley EFI Real Street, and did so again this race weekend by pushing his 01 Corvette to a 7.54 for the top-qualified spot and defeating Jessie Coulter and his '91 Camaro, 7.63 to 8.26. In Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Chevrolet Performance Stock, Kevin Lumsden landed in the lead qualified spot after driving his '99 Camaro to a 10.30, and he remained a force through the final, where he ousted Glenn Pushis and his CRC Camaro, 10.30 to 10.36. IMG_6349 copyDon Dixon drove his '05 GTO to a 9.75 on his 9.75 index to lead qualifying in LME Street King, but the day belonged to Taylor Lumsden and his '01 Firehawk, who was 10.00 on his 10.00 dial-in to defeat Al Corda, who was 10.05 on his 10.00 dial-in. IMG_6173 copyDavid Rickey rocketed to an 11.51 on his 11.50 index in his '02 Camaro Proform Rumble, but the final round saw Tom Calabrese and his '10 Camaro cruise to a 12.26 to oust Jason Stephenson, who turned on the red light to the tune of -.008 before turning off the clocks at 11.89 in his '08 Silverado.
