ProMedia Events is proud to announce it is adding the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series to the 13th annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, IL) over the weekend of July 26-29, 2018. It is hailed as the largest and wildest street-legal shootout of the year and NMCA officials will be hosting two index categories (the ProForm Rumble and LME Street King) and the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge. We are exciting to bring the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series to our Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing. The Chicago-area has long been a hotbed for LS/LT performance with awesome shops and enthusiasts. Now they have three categories to enter with their LS/LT-powered street or race car, said the NMCA event director and general manager Rollie Miller. The Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge, which offers a FREE entry, valued up to $175, is given away to the first 75 enthusiasts that pre-enter the LSX Shootout. The class offers a casual atmosphere where enthusiasts can hang out at the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge Pavilion and legally drag race their LS or modern LT-powered vehicles. Cash prizes are given out to average ET winners in the 9-, 10-, 11-, 12, 13-, 14-, and 15-second zones, along with an Overall Winner and Overall Runner-Up. ProForm Rumble is reserved for LS/LT/LLT V-6 powered vehicles slower than 11.00 and do not use a transbrake or bracket racing style electronics. LME Street King is designed to showcase vehicles that are quicker than 11.00 and transbrakes are legal. Both categories allow a chassis from any OE manufacturer as long as it is powered by a LS/LT/LLT engine platform. All class winners will enjoy a celebration in the famous Aerospace Components Winner's Circle. The NMCA Muscle Car Nationals, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, brings Chevys, Fords and Mopars in classes like the high-horsepower, alcohol-burning VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod, small-tire, super quick Mickey Thompson Radial Wars and the true factory hot rods in Holley EFI Factory Super Cars. The NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl combines the NMRA and NMCA in an event that's like no other. It's a must-attend trip for all muscle car fans! Situated on historic Route 66 in Joliet, Route 66 Raceway is an NHRA-affiliated, quarter-mile drag strip and the sister track to Chicagoland Speedway. It's an ideal venue for this huge grassroots motorsport event that includes not only some of the most thrilling drag racing in the country but also a huge all-American car show on the weekend. Featuring hundreds of early- and late- model cars, trucks and street rods, awards are handed out both Saturday and Sunday. On the manufacturer's midway, representatives from the top names in the automotive aftermarket share their latest products and answer questions to help fans and racers choose the best parts for their project car.
