Biehle, II Blasts to 5.85 in New Pro Mod Mustang

Posted By: Mike Galimi
While Michael Biehle, II powered his Grabber Blue 2013 Mustang to a 5.85 and the 2015 NMCA VP Racing Fuels Pro Mod championship, he'll be behind the wheel of a different car in 2016 in the class now called VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod and contested on the eighth-mile. Its chassis was built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars, and its body was built by Tim McAmis to resemble a Grabber Blue 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500. Ample amounts of power come from a ProLine Hemi and twin Precision 88mm turbos, and an M&M Transmission-built Pro Mod three-speed Turbo 400 and ProTorque converter put that power where it needs to be. After Jamie Miller tickled the keys on the laptop to lay a tune, Biehle shook the car down before flying to a 5.82 at 253 mph at the Bennett Auto Supply Real Pro Mod and Sportsman Southern Showcase, Feb. 26-28, at Palm Beach International Raceway. Now, he's aiming for the 14th Annual NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem, March 10-13, at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida. The first test session went okay, said Biehle. We had some new car issues, but we got all that sorted out, I think, and last weekend, we went 5.82 at 253 in legal NHRA trim, which is limited to 41 pounds of boost and 2600 pounds for the cars, so we're very pleased with that." An interview with the modest but motivated Biehle in the upcoming April issue of Fastest Street Car covers his new car, his plans for 2016 and who will pilot his 2013 Mustang, which spent time with Bickel after being damaged when a chute failure sent him to the sandtraps at the Shakedown at the Summit at Summit Motorsports Park in Ohio last September. "I think we have a very good hotrod this year, said Biehle.
