The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout is right around the corner and will be celebrating its 11^th anniversary in style at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Taking place September 21-24, 2017, the event, held in conjunction with the NMCA World Street Finals, is the largest LS drag race gathering in the U.S. The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout features awesome heads-up racing for the fastest LS-powered cars in the world, index-style and True Street racing for competitors of all levels, and a giant all LS and modern LT-powered car show. This is the LS event of the year, with increased purses in all classes and over $50,000 in cash and prizes. The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout's heads-up classes include Wiseco BoostLine Connecting Rods Drag Radial, Chevrolet Performance Stock, and Holley EFI Real Street all of which are wheels-up and hardcore. LME sponsors Street King, an index class for faster 8.0 to 11.0 second LS-powered racecars. The Shootout also features two classes for mild to wild street-type LS-powered vehicles, Proform Rumble and Gear Vendors True Street. Rumble allows racers to pick their index, matching their street machine up against some of the fastest cars in the country. All racers competing in Rumble and Street King may also compete for FREE in the LSX True Street Challenge class on Saturday. Travel through the countryside then bring your LS-powered musclecar, truck or SUV back to the track for a three-run showdown to determine who has the baddest LS or moden LT-powered True Street car in the world! All class winners will receive big bucks, an LSX bowtie block, and a custom LSX Victor award courtesy of Aerospace Components. The weekend begins on Thursday, September 21st, with a special Chevrolet Performance Racer Appreciation Party at the Hilton Garden Inn Indy Airport from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This special event, open to all LSX Shootout racers, crew, and family, features free dinner, beer, sodas, and over $15,000 in parts to be given away to lucky racers in the free parts raffle. The 2017 Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout will also feature LS car show classes for performance enthusiasts who want to show off their awesome muscle cars and hot rods. The Shootout's special 2-day car show will give away an assortment of awards to classes for 6th gen, 5^th gen and 4^th gen Camaros & Firebirds, Corvettes, and more.
