The NMCA Muscle Car Nationals is proud to announce a 3-year contract with one of the most recognizable names in motorsports—Chevrolet Performance. The deal includes Chevrolet Performance sponsored integration of LSX-based categories into the NMCA championship drag racing program, the 15th annual LSX Shootout (World Wide Technology Raceway May 13-16, 2021), the 3rd annual COPO Camaro Shootout (Summit Motorsports Park August 26-29), and a presenting sponsorship of the NMCA World Street Finals at Lucas Oil Raceway September 23-26.
“We celebrate a 15 year relationship with Chevrolet Performance by signing a 3-year contract with them, extending their support through the 2023 season. They helped launch the LSX engine program in 2005 and provided a stable and consistent event series for LS/LT-based enthusiasts,” said Steve Wolcott, founder and CEO of ProMedia Events & Publishing, the parent company of the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals.
“Chevrolet Performance is proud to continue our longstanding collaboration with NMCA in support of the series’ racers and fans,” said Jessica Earl, Specialty Marketing Manager with Chevrolet Performance. “NMCA competition gives Chevrolet Performance and GM the opportunity to showcase our OE quality engines and performance products to racers of all levels. Chevrolet Performance is also pleased to continue its program of racer contingency payments in all NMCA championship categories.”
For the first time-ever the LS/LT-based categories, which includes Proform Rumble, LME Street King, and Chevrolet Performance Stock presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, will be full-time NMCA championships categories competing at all six nationals events. Chevrolet Performance and their official host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, will continue celebrating the top-3 in those categories with a Champions Dinner during the PRI Show in December. Additionally, the winners will receive Victor trophies and Chevrolet Performance championship rings for their exceptional achievements.
The LSX Shootout moves to a new home at World Wide Technology Raceway, which is located just outside of St. Louis in Madison, Illinois. It runs concurrently with the world-famous NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing May 13-16, 2021. The LSX Shootout offers a kick-off party and raffle, the Brian Tooley Racing Real Street Shootout for Edelbrock Xtreme Street competitors, and special LSX Engine Block bonus programs courtesy of Chevrolet Performance and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center. The COPO Camaro Shootout returns to Summit Motorsport Park in Norwalk, Ohio, in 2021 showcasing the incredible performance of these factory-built race cars with three exciting classes to choose from. And finally, Chevrolet Performance is the presenting sponsor of the season-ending NMCA World Street Finals held at the historic Lucas Oil Raceway, which resides just outside of Indianapolis, September 23-26, 2021.
