Racer Update for the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Rt. 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois

Heading into the biggest race of the year for the NMCA, the event staff has made some arrangements that should make things a bit easier for racers.

Ice, a rather important commodity at drag strips these days not just for spectators, but race cars as well, will be sold at Concession Stand S14 located on the south side of the grandstands (same side as pits). A 22 lbs. bag retails for $10 and ice sales will be available every day (including Thursday) starting at 10:00 am. Ice will also be available at Concession Stand S12 (NuVibe Coffee Shop), which will typically open for coffee and breakfast items (Fri-Sun).

VP Racing Fuels will be on the property throughout the duration of the event and will be located on the back return road by the dirt oval. Of course, advance orders can be made using the online form HERE.

Also supporting racers on Super Bowl weekend is Mickey Thompson Tires, which will be on the property all event and parked on the Manufacturer’s Midway. Hoosier Tire will be on the property all weekend as well, and also parked on the Midway.

Lastly, regarding gate entry, racers and crew need to use Gate 14 on all four days of the event. Gate 12 is for spectators and carshow only.

From the individual NMCA race to the Super Bowl runoffs against the NMRA class winners, the Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing presented by FST Carburetors features the largest group of heads-up drag racing classes in the world combined with index classes and the latest in LS- and LT-powered cars that compete in the adjoining Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series.
