Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series

The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series is back for 2019 with additional events and more ways to race your LS or modern LT powered GM vehicle. It?s the premier racing series for street-based vehicles powered by Chevrolet?s LS and modern LT engines and it takes place at five select NMCA events. Race dates and locations include:
  • NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals - Atlanta Dragway ? Commerce, Georgia - April 4-7, 2019
  • NMCA Memphis Homecoming Featuring the LSX Shootout - Memphis International Raceway - Memphis, Tennessee - May 2-5, 2019
  • NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing - Route 66 Raceway ? Joliet, Illinois July 25-28, 2019
  • NMCA All-American Nationals - Summit Motorsports Park ? Norwalk, OH - August 22-25, 2019
  • NMCA World Street Finals - Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis ? Indianapolis, Indiana - September 19-22, 2019
The BIG one is back?the 13th annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout will take place as part of the NMCA Memphis Homecoming event. This is the second event of Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series, which features some of the coolest wheels-up LS and modern-LT powered muscle cars on the planet. Classes include Chevrolet Performance Stock, LME Street King, Proform Rumble, Gear Vendors LSX True Street, and the all-new Street Car Challenge class for ?true street? type vehicles with personalized instruction. There will also be a special Real Street Shootout, presented by Brian Tooley Racing, for the fastest LS-powered NMCA Xtreme Street cars on the property. The winners of CP Stock, Street King, Rumble, LSX True Street, and the Real Street Shootout will each take home big money and an LSX bowtie block. The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series takes place as a part of the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals, which means you will see the best in LS and LT performance, as well as all-domestic heads-up muscle car drag racing. All events also feature giant car shows, huge manufacturers? midways and swap meets, burnout contest, and much more! Each Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series event will feature all the cars and all the stars from the LS & Modern LT drag racing ranks. The best part is there's a class for everyone from Chevrolet Performance Stock presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center to Proform Rumble, a class with easy-to-follow, index-style rules. CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE STOCK
CP Stock is a naturally aspirated heads-up class designed for 1955 and newer GM (General Motors) bodied vehicles and is designed as a low cost, entry-level heads-up class. CP Stock is designed around competitors using a production OEM-sealed Chevrolet Performance DR525 crate engine combined with a factory Chevrolet Performance sealed ECM and installation kit. This helps control the expenses associated with competitive heads-up drag racing and allows racers to explore other avenues to gain a performance advantage. STREET KING
Street King is an Index category designed to showcase the latest GM V-8 and V-6 engine from the LS, LT, and LLT engine families. Any manufacturer?s body is allowed, provided the vehicle is powered by a GM LS/LT or LLT powerplant. The minimum ET is 11.00 and the Indexes go quicker from there; transbrakes are permitted. RUMBLE (INDEX)
Rumble is an Index category that is designed for vehicles 11.00 and slower; bracket racing electronics or transbrakes are prohibited. Any manufacturer?s body is permitted, but the vehicle must be powered by a GM LS, LT or LLT (V-6) powerplant. Vehicles are required to be factory appearing with a stock body. STREET CAR CHALLENGE
If you own an LS or modern-LT powered vehicle then this event's for you! Chevrolet Performance has partnered with NMCA to provide you with a FREE motorsport experience to first-time participants. Chevrolet Performance will comp your entry (car and driver for the first 75 entries) so you can enjoy the awesome performance of your LS or modern-LT powered hot rod in a fun, safe environment?the racetrack. REAL STREET SHOOTOUT (TN EVENT)
There will be a special Real Street Battle Royale, open to LS and modern LT-powered NMCA Xtreme Street racers, at the LSX Shootout in Memphis, Tennessee. It?s designed for American production vehicles with stock frame rails and 275/10.5-inch style tires. The category allows for spec?d turbochargers and superchargers with various options for nitrous-injected and naturally aspirated LS/LT combinations. The challenge comes from applying approximately 1,500 hp to the surface using small tires. The Real Street Shootout will take place on Saturday (weather permitting) and is run concurrently with Xtreme Street qualifying rounds. Each Real Street Shootout champion will receive $1,000, a bonus LSX bowtie block (valued at over $3,500) and an invitation to the Chevrolet Performance Champions Dinner where he/she will be presented with a 2019 champions ring. Contingency Postings: CLICK HERE! It?s easy to race one event or the entire Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series. Points will be awarded for each event and competitors racing for a championship will be required to race at least 4 of 5 events. Each class champion (including Real Street Shootout) will be invited to a special Chevrolet Performance Champions Dinner at the PRI show in December in Indy and will receive a double-tier Victor award and a custom bow tie champions ring, courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey Parts.
