A. GENERAL REGULATIONS

A.1: INTRODUCTION

NMCA is the official sanctioning body of the NMCA Drag Racing series. The general rules and procedures contained within this rulebook concern the heads-up, open comp style eliminators, and bracket racing classes that will be held at each of the NMCA Drag Racing Series events. The goal of the NMCA is to provide our participants with a world-class drag racing experience accordingly; we expect our racers and their crew to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Before participating in a NMCA event, you are responsible to review and familiarize yourself with the safety guidelines, rules, and regulations contained within this rulebook. Please review this NMCA General Rules and Procedures section very carefully. It could save you both money and time over the entire race season.

The entire body of rules, regulations and procedures contained within this rulebook is presented with the assumption any modification(s) and/or condition(s) not expressly and specifically permitted in this rulebook should be considered illegal, unless you obtain expressed written permission from the NMCA Technical Director. If there are areas of this rulebook that need clarification please contact the NMCA Technical Coordinator by e-mail at nmcarules@promediapub.com and/or via telephone at (714) 460-3813 between the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Eastern time each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The general philosophy of the NMCA is to maintain stability and parity within the eliminators. NMCA will make its best effort to implement most all significant rules changes during the winter months so the competitors can prepare for the upcoming season. The NMCA plans to maintain these rules throughout the first three events of the series. Changes will only be made prior to the forth race of the season if the rules committee deems a specific combination or rule results in a distinct and significant advantage over others in the class. Prior to the fourth race mid-season rules changes will be addressed and administered by the Rules Committee. Every effort will be made to finish the season with these rules unless a distinct and significant advantage prevails for a specific combination or rule.

In 2008 – 2009, the NMCA will make every effort to release its 2009 preliminary rules by November 10, 2008. Anyone who desires to make an official NMCA rule recommendation and/or request may only do so in WRITING. Telephone conversations with NMCA officials, staff members and/or contracted employees will NOT be considered in rules committee discussions. You must submit your 2008 mid-season rules requests for changes no later then June 09, 2008. Requests to be considered for the 2009 Preliminary Rules must be received no later than September 25, 2008. THESE REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING! (MESSAGE BOARD REQUESTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED)!!! You may e-mail your recommendations and/or requests to: nmcarules@promediapub.com. Fax to: NMCA RULES, C/O Event Division (714) 444-2509 or US Postal Service to ProMedia/NMCA, C/O Rules, Event Division, 3518 West Lake Center Drive, Suite “D” Santa Ana, CA 92704. To be considered, your written request must include the following: Full Name, Class, NMCA Competition Number and Membership expiration date. You may or may not receive a written response to your recommendation or request. You may contact the NMCA tech line (714) 460-3813 during the designated hours to insure the validity and confirmation of your rules submission.

Product Approval Process:
Each year manufactures will have the opportunity to physically submit product(s) for acceptance in specific NMCA classes. For 2009 all product request for approval must be physically received by NMCA no later than November 10, 2008. For further information on presenting products for approval manufactures may contact the NMCA Tech Line during designated hours.
