The National Muscle Car Association, the #1 muscle car series the US, is pleased to announce that it will once again host a very special ShopHemi.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout at its Reading, PA event. Mopar performance has been a big part of Maple Grove Raceway’s history and the ShopHemi.com Late-Model HEMI Shootout is the premier modern Mopar event!

The Late-Model HEMI Shootout is a special “event within an event” at the NMCA’s Reading, PA ,event motorsport show. The Shootoul attracts the fastest supercharged, turbocharged, nitrous-powered and naturally aspirated late-model Challengers, Chargers, Magnums and 300s in the country to compete on a national stage. They join the NMCA’s already large base of muscle car racers and enthusiasts. Other exciting features of this NMCA event include a huge auto show & shine, a giant manufacturers’ midway/swap meet and a 300+ mph jet dragster!

ProCharger will give away special awards to the world’s fastest late-model HEMI-powered competitors – Challenger, Charger, Magnum, 300, and Truck/SUV. There will also be an awesome match race between the two overall fastest HEMIs at the end of the event.  If any winner has a ProCharger supercharger on their vehicle then ProCharger will pay a special “ProCharger Bonus” cash award.

Mopar Muscle to Present True Street Class at Late-Model HEMI Shootout

New for 2010…Late-Model HEMI True Street Class Presented by Mopar Muscle – The Late-Model HEMI True Street class, sponsored by Tremec and presented by Mopar Msucle, is designed for “true” street cars that are licensed, insured and capable of making a 30-mile police escorted cruise!  The class will be contested on the Saturday of the event (June 5th) and each racer will run three back-to-back passes for an overall average E.T.  Awards are given to the overall fastest HEMI, runner up, and the closest averages to 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 seconds.

All True Street racers will receive free entry into Sunday’s DiabloSport Late-Model HEMI Rumble (index) class.

A custom Late-Model HEMI Shootout jacket and $1,000 shopHEMI.com gift certificate will be awarded to one Late-Model HEMI Shootout participant in honor of Mark Burkhardt, a shopHEMI.com employee and good friend of the NMCA who passed away in 2009.  The winner will be the person who shopHEMI.com and the NMCA recognize as contributing the most to the growth and success of the Late-Model HEMI movement in 2010.
