By reading the rules right, if running a '62 Biscayne let's say, I'm only allowed a 348 or a 409, or a 427 Z11 engine? even though that wasn't till '63? Why not a 327 like this old S/S car? I think that might limit your amount of Chevy entries.

I'm allowed a 455 in a '63 Tempest though that never had that engine available. Hell he's not even allowed a BBC 427 in the car since it's not the original style "W" engine
I know it's not the fast class, but have a buddy who wants to run F/NSS but is confused on that rule.

Mainly NSS is big blocks only. The exception is the 66 ChevyII and it can run a small block in FX classes only (9.75 or faster). Someone got that one put in some how. Yes the big Chevys through 64 have to run the W engine. Size doesn't matter in NSS, it just has to be the right engine family for the year and make.

P.S. Your buddy can run NMC, he'd be welcome there.

Thanks Jim. I'll let him know. Kinda sucks considering like I said, you can run a 455 in a '63 Tempest even though it never was offered.
Have to check up on the NMC rules now :)

Mark, just checked the rules and you are correct. Didn't know they had changed that. I know last year at Memphis there was a NHRA SS car running in FX and it was a small block. Anyway that means no small blocks.

That eliminates me running the Baskin Truck Sales chevy II this year..... I'm glad I haven't spent any time working on the car yet.

Steve, I sure didn't know they dropped the small block until Mark pointed it out. I would like to maybe have run one of those cars too since I had one new. I remember people fussing when they let it in and now we're fussing when they take it out.

May as well get the big Paducah Biscuit Steve!
