I have heard a rumor that some rules may have been broken during the running of the MILAN True Street class which would have or should have Disqualified the winner ?????? Since I wasnt there Im wondering if anyone was privy to the FACTS????

I read it on another board. One of the guys mentioned helping him out, but the funny thing was Jim only got 2 runs in before the rain and the other participants voted him as winner since he was so far out of their range. Where was the complainer when the vote was taken? Complain before the win is awarded if you have a beef. Not after. You can complain to yourself but don't broadcast it on the internet.

AHH, thats a new twist on things. I was told about the 2 runs, But someone said it was because of long chute packing time. Makes a little more sense to me about the RAIN ....

HOWEVER, I heard someone staged him in the groove also??? If this is TRUE, THats an immediate DQ ... Heard anything about this??

I knew as soon as you said you read it on another board where it was MARK< I just read the thread. The car passed tech, that should be a DEAD ISSUE, I know Mike checks cars well.

I see where Urachko said he staged him though.. I totally agree that anyone protesting should have spoken up that day. Grow a set of nuts and stand up for what you believe to be true.. HOWEVER its in the NMCA rules and the NMCA should enforce them, whether its Jim Powski , Tom Heatley, Paul Ferrucci or any other driver..

I hope they are this understanding when Im having a hardtime getting the new Twins down the track so SPETTER comes out and gives me a lil laptop tune up at the tree between runs......:D

The staging is what I was talking about. To me it's no big deal but if someone was going to complain it should have been done right away but it should have been caught by the officials also. That seems kind of obvious, but in Joliet we were pushing cars down the return road and the rules say no crew is allowed around the car. John and another participant were pushing my car and Paul's and someone whined to me after the race while celebrating with Paul. We said we pushed Paul's too so stop whining. There were a ton of cars and to keep rolling down the road we would have had to start the car about 30 times or let it idle for a half hour. If you have a faster car someone will always cry. Like last year at Ironman when someone complained I was changing my tires after the cruise. There were two sets of rules, one on the internet and one they must have had at the shop. The guys made me stop changing them because the ones at the shop said you couldn't do it but the internet rules were not updated, but they appoligized for their mistake later. It didn't matter....after I trailered you I red lighted anyway.

People who are in second shouldn't CRY, They just need a FASTER CAR!!!
I got DQ after a race in 2003 at Cordova for a changing a bottle between rounds. I thought that was funny cause someone bitched about it after the race. The funny thing was that I asked about that in the drivers meeting before the race when Robbin Lawrence was running the show that weekend. Robbin Lawrence was helping me change the bottle that weekend
even he thought it was legal!!!! I was PISSED!!!!!!!!!
All I can say is that the RULE BOOK is the Bible and read it well, because someone will slap yah in the face with it!!!!

I think that pushing the cars down (cluster F'ed) staging lanes to make room for the other cars to squeeze in where the lanes neck down is a common sense thing.
I also think that Powski is more than capable of staging his car in the groove without help , therefore nothing was done that would have changed the probable outcome of the race...

Mike Bruns had to make a discretionary call and I think he was thinking exactly that .. Nothing was done that (most likely) would have changed the outcome of the race.. I have had several days to think this through where he had to act right NOW... Even if guys protest an infraction its Mikes responsibility to interpret the issue .. ITs easy to Monday morning quarterback, Bruns is a race savy guy and in my opinion which is just that, my OPINION he got this one right....

Mike said in the driver's meeting that if anyone would be out if someone helped at the staging of the car. The driver was not present but did have someone there. The guy that addressed this concern would have got the 10 second win if Mike would have done what he said. I said that the runner-up should be the one who decides if he should get the run on 2 passes only. The winner took his time packing his chute, I guess for the extra cool down.

TWO RUNS?? HOLY SHIET what the hell went on at this place?? Every time I clik on the board another round unfolds. DO I dare ask how someone won making 2 passes in a 3 pass average class?

TIRES: FRONT & REAR
this is right out of the 2007 rules!!!

DOT slick tires or DOT legal radials tires required for drive tires during the road tour AND the Wild Street competition and class run off. Racing slicks prohibited. Maximum actual measured tire size is as follows: Actual measured tread of all racing slick-type tire is limited to 1 0.6-inches. For D.O.T. radial tires, maximum sidewall designation permitted is 325mm.Tire height is unrestricted.A “go-no go” gauge will be used to measured tire width.Tire shaving is prohibited.Tire changing is prohibited during or after the road tour.

whats the biggest drag radial???whats 325MM??

i know powski had the biggest drag radials they make on that car in joilet and they were well wider than 10.6:rolleyes: now someone is staging the car? and winning with 2 runs? o well i guess its no big deal..

when we ran the eliminations in joilet the people working the track did NOT even stage us in the water to do a burnout or nothing..I had to guess were the water was

The 315x60 is actually a bigger tire than the 325... It really depends on what rim you use.
