I heard Barrett White was actually Awarded the plaque in the 12 second index , then had it taken back away? Whats the odds 2 guys would end up with a 12.009 Average in the 12 second index or any index for that matter ?
QUESTION : Is deciding it on MPH the way it was always planned to be done if ETs are the same? or is this something they decided on today?
MY 2 CENTS : I would think since its a 3 pass average, NMCA would decide the winner in the event of a TIE by the CLOSEST pass to the actual INDEX. In this case whichever guy had a pass closest to 12.0.. Im not sure which guy that would have been but going to MPH seems odd to me in an index class..

HA HA George, Howd the cars run this weekend by the way??
For what its worth, I heard from BARRETT and he says he would have lost the tie breaker either way, Other car ran closer to a 12.0 and had highest MPH.. Its always nice when theres no lingering questions..

Something in the Camaro chassis decided to fight me all weekend... I never did make a clean hit... In fact I made more tire smoking 11 sec passes than I did 8 sec passes.... 8.81 @ 159 w/ 1.49 60 was its best... Dad's Vette (running t/s) ran a 13.004 in tnt, but slowed up in elims so I shot for the 14.0 av.... Paul ran a perfect 12.000 in elim, but then thru an 11.75 in and couldn't slow up enough for the 3rd round.....
If nothing else I still had a good time and got to see some great people...

Good to see the camaro is motivating. Hell even with the poor 60' it got up and rolled. Youll get it worked out.

I would have loved a chance to run the other guy for the title of 12-second winner. That should have been fair, what do you think?

Don't these computers have the ability to go to the 10thousands of a second? One of our local, dirt pit, no score board tracks decided one of my wins by going to the 10 thousands before, why can't these new top of the line units do that. Barret had a 12.009 , may be it was a zereo the next digit?? did What a bummer:( :( they check on that?

I think they should dish out another $100 bucks to the other 12 sec car if they both ran the same number. The class had 70+ cars and what does it pay total????
$1000 for everything??
Just my thoughts.
Plus all the people watching (we had 2 True Street cars there and brought 9 people to watch!) If they were not racing we would of not come.
I think they could pay out more or do something for the True Street racers.

On the same note I don't think that with the payout the entry fee is in order either. Keep in mind I am not there for the money but don't like to pay a lot to not get a chance for as much in return.

There were at least 72 cars there at $125 (not counting the extra $25 that the guys that showed up Thrusday) thats $9000 for a class that pays out $250 for the winner and $100 for index winners/runner up. There is one car that gets more back than the fee to run the class??....I guess you also get some Test/Tune runs.
I know that CHI has the highest car count and most the time there are not 72 cars but for the big turn outs the pay outs should go up too...
Just My 2 cents

These are good points to raise. Now that TRUE STREET is really taking off and there are LOYAL REGULARS building and racing all over the country maybe its time to rethink these issues. Seems like TRUE STREET might be taking in more money than other classes at these big races with NOTHING for a payback to really speak of.
I know the class was started with the idea of local guys showing up.. But the point is, ITS SOMETHING ELSE NOW and Dont try to tell any of us DIEHARD guys who are spending the $$$ to be there race after race that it isnt...
This is a NATIONAL door car showdown and in my opinion the best competition anywhere. I cant wait to come out and play with the twins...

The class is on an AVERAGE Barrett so I dont see them letting you guys make a pass for the tie breaker. Im also guessing the timing system there didnt got out to ten thousandths or MIke would have just gone out 1 more place, Hes no rookie at this stuff. Sucks to be in your shoes for sure though, hey, heres your plaque ( everyone clapping) wife taking pics of you smiling ear to ear... OHH wait a second, seems we didnt notice this dude has the same average. OH DAMN sorry Barrett, tell the wife to delete those pics, Seems hes got a higher MPH than you.. GIMME that plaque back and go home with no spark plug wires :D

Well, HK, no 10 yet. I spun in the rt lane and got a 10.14. Tryed to make it up in the left lalne with a 9.95, but I did by the rules and got back in the rt lane for the last run, spun again with a 10.05. It should have gone faster all week end and I was plagued with an oil leak problem. Back home, I found why I could not run the numbers. A compression check found #2 cly withonly 100 lbs compression. Took it down and the rings butted up the gap and pushed up the top land and it was hitting the head and smashed the second ring, stuck in the groove. I believe I hurt it in Columbus when I made my last pass and was over 260 degrees at half tracka. I guess it did pritty good for 7 and 1/2 pistons going. It will be healthy for MILAN, my home state.

Same ET? Both should get a plaque unless there was something written in the rules prior. MPH should not be used. A big MPH car would have the advantage and somebody sandbagging (to try to get a specific et class win) would have the disadvantage.
If there's nothing in the rules, this would be the prime example why there should be.
