Engine builder has all the parts out to be thermal barrier coated. Heads have had some short side radius work done, ALL new intake and exhaust valves, Turbo People Custom grind on the camshaft going in. Swapped out the mini alternator for a BADASS MEAN GREEN piece that puts out 140 amps at idle.. Two -three weeks the engine should be back in and the car goes up to DMC In Massachusetts for the turbo install and most likely the 25:5 upgrade on the chassis. I still have till spring of 2008 on the 7.50 cert now but I havnt made up my mind on that yet.. Cant wait to get out there with you guys again and actually have a set up that will get down the track..

Sounds like you have all the right people involved Tom. Man I would be going nuts with all this work in the middle of racing season. Those belts are a real pain though it seems like. Mike Cerimano tossed 2 this past weekend on his Nova and almost didn't make the first round at Cecil against me but then someone gave him a belt much to my surprise, as he launched out of the gate! He runs a Vortech though I believe. So I guess this means you won't be at Joliet.........will you be at the Ironman?

Mark, Its been killing me to be down for all these races, BUT it was killing me more to spend the thousands of dollars to get to races and DNF.. Joliet is OUT FOR SURE, I was supposed to be ready for the iron man, But now Im sweating that a bit too. My engine builder is on the slow side but hes semi retired and I knew that going in. Dennis at DMC is great and has vowed to get the car in and out as soon as its ready. Hes done lots of stuff that Spetter tunes and Job likes his stuff. So that was a no brainer. I just took a job in DC that starts Wed so Ill be up north for a few weeks then Im off to Las Vegas for 6-8 weeks. Im hoping a flight back up north for tuning happens during that trip. Ill keep you posted as things progress, By the way, Hows the blue bullet doing???

Tom,

Sounds like you are making some great progress, albeit time-consuming. Hope to see ya soon!

Sounds good. I want to see it fly but I am a little worried.

The "blue bullet" is doing well. Still working on getting the little DOTs to hook. I ditched the drag radials and went back to the ET Streets. It went 8.70 over the weekend with 161+ MPH, "with a light tune" LOL. Actually the 60' was around 1.39. I took some jet of the first system so I can stop taking timing out off the line hopefully and then I will bring the second system in sooner than 1.6 out I hope and/or jet the 2nd system up. I have been running the 8.50 index stuff up here but slightly overweight and under tired trying to run the number. Mike Cerimano returned the favor from last month and trailered me in the first round at Cecil last weekend and then went on chopping the tree down winning on hole shots, .027 light in the final on a .400 tree, to win the event. Your blow through buddy Wazslow, aka John, is trying to get his new 101mm setup figured out.

Marc,

Any possibility you would get a wild hair and show up in Joliet?

Thanks Ron. I am Jonesing to get to a race...

Marc, I had heard John was FLYING with that new set up.. Is he having issues blowing thru with the bigger turbo? His car is always a big time condender I know its gonna rock with that bigger turbo.

John had trouble doing a burnout and building boost in the waterbox. He found the problem a couple of days ago. He only made 2 passes with it so far and they were mid 9s but he had pretty good mph. He is testing again today at Englishtown. I am sure the car will be in the low 8s once it is sorted out.

Paul, I knew that Intercooler was gonna be a GREAT improvement on your car. I know the blow thru boards all say they are not as neccessary on Carbed cars but I Never bought that. COLD air is cold air, The fact that your fuel is cooling the charge already just makes them that much more intense for you carb guys. Im glad you are enjoying that 8.50 index race, I knew it was gonna be a fun gig to run. You cant even imagine how bummed I am that Im sitting out. Although Im SURE I have a pleasant surprise just around the corner here in a few months. Give em hell out there the midwest...:D

Damn GREG< good to see you found the TRUE STREET board. I hear that mustang is dragging the bumper on a regular basis now.. My junk is coming along good. Had it running 5.40s last year in 1/8 with an F2 but couldnt get past half track on a belt. Cars back up your way now having Spetter set up twin 88s. Hows that Maryland street car deal coming along ? Im supposed to tune the new set up at ATCO in SEPT, Im thinking about maybe running the 295 radial at one of those shows there then. Is your # still the same? I have it in my phone, Ill try to ring you this week. Hell havnt talked to you in over a year now..

New email is HEATLEYRACIN@aol.com

You should be set-up nice when spetter gets done with it. I'll have to try to make it to atco when you come up. I've only made 2 outta 4 drag radial events so far, made it to the 2nd round in both, there's some tough competition in that class.
