The rules say:

6.1 INTERIOR

INTERIOR (LATE MODEL EFI CLASSES): Must have full factory seating, upholstery, and carpeting. Rear seat may be removed when roll bar/cage is installed. Area must be carpeted or upholstered equivalent to factory specifications (no bare paneling).

My question: I do not have a roll bar or cage. I run 12.0 and do not need one. I do have my rear seats removed. Will I still be able to run with no back seats and no roll bar/cage? Let me know, thanks!

Matt

The way I read you are only allowed to take out the seat if you need to clear roll bar/cage.

Let's see what the officials say

and I spotted you out cars....

Gee.... I even have a back seat.... :D

Dude I have no idea... I'd let you pass for one race, but I am not the one to ask...

They gotta let you pass at least once. Until you get the roll bar put in. :D

You're right. The fact that I took out my 25lb back seat makes up for more than double the hp you have on me. Let's go heads up! :D

The way I see it is, they do not say Rear seat may ONLY be removed when roll bar/cage is installed. I think that one omitted word will allow me to run. If not, I'll still be there at 66 and in Memphis, just running the brackets.

(hint, but I didn't say anything)

I'd try the... "we just took the backseat out, to put a cage it, but have not got it installed yet" line...

I agree, thats what I was trying to hint in my last post without saying it.

Sorry MAtt but George just ruined it for you. NMCA will be on to you !! Guess you should have negociated not having a back seat with GMC when you raced him at the 2 out of 3, now its comming back to bite you in the ass. LOL :D

LOL, you would be the 1st member ! You could always run open comp or True Street.

This question kinda needs to be answered before you buy you membership, cause when you get it you have to specify which class you are running ang get a perm number for that class.

We'll see if I can find the seats. I don't feel like doing a 30 mile cruise with my car in 90+ heat.

Oh yeah, and I don't have insurance on the car, so I can't run True Street. I will find some seats somewhere and just remove something else to compensate for the weight. Thanks for following up John :)

put some pvc tubing in the car and paint it black. Its a roll bar, it may not be approved but its still a "roll bar." :D

On a more serious note there has got to be someone who has rear seats you can borrow.
