Can somebody explain to me why there is a 75# weight penalty for a non-OEM transmission in NPS? There are many powerglide and T-400 cars running in the mid 6's that don't break. Their is no disadvantage to running them, unless you happen to have a Ford or Chrysler. We run a Bruno/ Lenco that is much heavier than a GM tranny and definitely not faster. Why the extra weight for safety? This rule is not fair to competitors with non GM cars.According to your weight rules , my car will have to weigh 3475 for a very simple old school nitrous combo. If it were a Chevy it could weigh 3300 with the same basic set-up. Don't expect to see many different brands of cars in this class. The rules are biased towards Camaros and I personally don't care to compete at Orlando Heavy Street weight all the time. It's just not safe.Skip Foulk

You'll need to send your rules questions to tech@fasteststreetcar.com

One thing you'll notice is that there is a weight difference for a Bruno/Lenco and a OEM automatic in every class in PRO, NMRA, and most other sanctions.

the only thing i can think is the dependability of the bruno lenco deal i know with my 400 it always snaps the input shaft due to the weight of the car but either way i feel the rule is a rule that works out for people liek you guys that take the penalty for the dependability we cant afford a bruno lenco or i would have one
