Excellent article in the FSC mag Mark. You are always so humble , I think thats what makes you so likeable. ALMOST makes me forget how you keep putting me on the trailer. :D

Thanks Tom. I just now saw this and the TS results from down in the sun. Doesn't look like you had too much fun. Hope you have a safe trip home. I will have your shirt next time I see you. I JUST got home with my motor.

MARK, was another typical PROCHARGER weekend for me. $2 grand in expenses and a trailer full of tattered blower belts. I hightailed it outta FLA straight for my engine builders shop. We stripped the blower and headers off the car today. I have an appointment at DMC chassis shop for 2 weeks to get the turbo headers and tubing done. He will advise turbo people when he gets the car which will be easier to plumb in, TWIN 88s or a single 106.. Engine is being torn down and freshened up with TURBO PEOPLE custom grind cam ,bigger pushrods, thermal coating the pistons and chambers.... I have a complete F2 set up for sale well below cost if you know anyone looking for one. It will include BB chevy brackets and pulleys which have been on the car for 2 weeks , everything else in kit is NEW in packages, race surge valve, blow thru hat, tubing clamps, idler, belts, spare pulleys and HEAD UNIT that comes with it is FRESH FROM PROCHARGER never been on the car. Head unit I ran this weekend was brand new loaner from ATI while I was waiting on mine to come back.

That doesn't sound like fun at all. You need what I really wanted to do and that was a crankshaft mount deal with no belts. That's the ultimate ticket I would think. It just costs a few bucks and you need some fabrication done, but I guess you have made up your mind. You are supposed to change stuff over the winter not after the first race. That is really a drag. Sounds like you are dealing with the right People so you will be in good hands. I JUST finished putting the headers on the motor and am heading back out to take care of the other under the car stuff so I can get it off the jacks tonight. I am having my intake replumbed. The new fogger tubing didn't look too good and it actually hit my linkage and I couldn't get my distributor in. They plumbed it figuring I guess that I had a belt drive front mount distributor. I won't have that back for a week but we should be running right after that. Isn't it FUN???

George, Thanks man. The problem is just that the engine is running the belt over the blower pulley at Max RPM. I made an off idle run early saturday morning short shifted to high and then rolled it up through the traps to see if the belt was ok when not spun max. It ran 9.64 @ 154 but the belt was just starting to show signs of coming apart. I put a fresh belt on for the Cruise and I stripped the belt during the burnout on the first pass. I was halfway through the burnout and the boost dropped off. I knew right away what it was. I had Jim Sommers check the car out after I broke the Polychain belt during a test pass on Friday. He thought everything looked ok but had me add another brace up high on the blower. In all fairness to Procharger Jim knew that spinning the blower max was gonna be an issue at my power level and they UPGRADED me to an F3 to cure the problem. Its just that the F3 required moving everything on the front of the engine and I wasnt willing to have it sticking out of the hood. They definitely tried to make the blower work for me. Its just that I feel its time to move on to the turbo...

So why were you trying to run the blower so fast? Can't the ratio be changed to spin the blower the same speed but slow down the belt? Why was your speed so much faster than everyone else.............what were you trying to do, create a low pressure system in Florida?

Mark, After the weekends mishaps Procharger mentioned trying to put a remote water pump on so I could put on a HUGE crank pulley and slow the belt down. Quite frankly Ive been struggling with this thing for MONTHS now and Im just sick of trying stuff on my own dime. Its been one guess after another and nothing seemed to be helping. The exhaust is obnoxiously loud with the blower on it anyway and even the wife said that was the last 30 mile cruise she was gonna ride in it until I quieted it down. Im going to be sidelined for a couple months while the engine and chassis are set up for the turbo but its going to be a whole new ballgame when the car comes back out. :D

Ive also got a set of LEMONS Headers 2 3/8" for First gen camaro with Big block if anyone is looking for a set Id like to get a grand for them. THats about $650 less than I paid for em. They are coated and have 02 bung welded by Lemons that could be plugged if not needed. Bottom tubes are scuffed but not deformed from a HUGE WHEELIE launch gone bad :o
