OKAY, So we threw a bunch of Ideas out there. I got a few emails back that they received the RECORDS deal pretty well. Saw the post that some things were under advisement, But has anyone heard anything concrete about them POSTING TRUE STREET RECORDS on the records page? Its not up there as yet.

RON, I remember you said ADAM ESTERLAND was the first ever 8 second average at the GROVE when you presented him with his award. SO theres the current record holder to post on the page. It wouldnt take but a few minutes to add TRUE STREET to the bottom of the records page real quick. I would also be willing to bet it wouldnt take you but a few minutes to research the fastest single pass made. Id guess that might have been ADAM as well at THE GROVE..

Im hearing about some crazy fast cars planning to run this year at the events. I cant help but wonder how far a guy is going to have to go to set and hang onto the record. SURE is making it interesting. Me personally , Im gonna start by trying to keeping blower belts on for 3960 feet...(which as everyone knows was a chore all last season for me. If I can accomplish that, Ill try to be in the thick of things for this EXCITING 2007 SEASON...

I'll stand up for the NMCA on this one..... I believe they clear the records for every class every year... Thus the first car down the track in Florida will have the record, and so on..... ;)

WELL ALRIGHTY THEN , that gives us all a fighting chance early in the season then I guess. I had figured they were gonna keep a running record of the TRUE STREET class. But then again I guess I never really knew that the HEADS UP classes didnt carry their records over. Im still wanting to hear if they have confirmed keeping the records posted. We gotta keep you around George you're always teaching us stuff. :p

How about the best True Street index average ?? not the fastest but the closest to index average.

The guys that would be competing for the fastest car record dont actually have any index to run for. The index' start with 10.0 and run up as you know. Once you run 9.99 or quicker you are running for all out best ET. A records slot as we've been posting about would put TRUE STREET on the map with the other heads up classes at least.

I understand that. But give the little guys a chance too at the closest average.

I think the whole reason for the index awards is to give the slower guys something worth while to show up for. If they didnt add those index awards the faster cars would run them all off. If they made records for every index I think it would be like adding 6 more subclasses all together to the class. Everyone has the ability to step up their program and run faster. IF they want to compete for the class record. YES, before anyone makes a post, I paid my entry fees and competed in QUICK STREET @ Newengland dragway for years when I was outclassed by faster cars. Heads up street car racing means you gotta step up to run with the big boys. NMCA has graciously added awards for slower cars in 6 other index' THATS AWESOME!!!!. When we lost we got to go to the stands and watch everyone else run for the rest of the day.

Posting the record for the quickest three run average in True Street is an excellent idea. It would take little effort on the part of the NMCA. The regular procedure of putting an R on your window and backing up your record pass should not need to apply since you are already doing three back to back passes in competition. It would give the quicker cars in the class additional incentive to step their cars up and run hard, giving the fans a better show, while not threatening the other index awards for 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, etc. It seems to me if you are there to compete for the 11.0 index award, you are not there to compete for the record and someone who is trying to set the class record should not influence you in any way. I also think adding a 9.0 index award would make good sense in 2007. If the competition heats up in the class as I believe it will, the winner and runner up at an event could both be in the eights this season, leaving all the 9 second cars with little to compete for. But that is just my opinion.

Now that you mention that. I remember RON had mentioned that at MAPLE GROVE. Events where the winner ran an 8 second average he was going to set up a 9 second INDEX winner. We should get this question Emailed in to MIKE BRUNS as well. Seems Mark Schank ran like a 9.teen average or something and since winner was in the 8s he was runner up but got NUTTIN.. Woulda seemed right for him to get the 9 second index award.

Actually John Kokinda beat my by I think .001 so he would have had it. That's why I was lobbying for the 9 second index award.

OH, I thought you came in second there. That just blows my opinion of your car now., You didnt even get 2nd at the GROVE :D
