Guys if you have read my post earlier than you know that I am building a new nps car for 2004 and am seeking some more ideas or just what you guys think. The rules state for a back halved car i must retain my stock firewall and front suspension I am keeping all of my stock suspension but the dilemma the 2001 corvette has a fiberglass firewall and fiberglass is bad, bad for fire and bad for any one of us to breath as it is burning i am asking everyone who runs the Pro series to understand that there is no advantage of me changing my firewall from fiberglass to steel it is all about safety and the fact that i am 22 and i want to be able to be a true adult one day. so if there is anyone that thinks by removing the firewall for a pure safety advantage that is all i am looking for i love everything about racing but as we all know that a life is more important than a win. in building this car i will retain the stock dash hopefully the stock radio i want everyone to accept my new car like they accepted my 67 camaro into the racing series that is all.

SO GUYS I ASK AS A FRIEND BE HONEST AND UNDERSTAND ITS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT A PERFORMANCE ISSUE PLEASE IF YOU READ LEAVE ME A POST SO EVERYONE CAN SEE IT

Tony;hate to say it ;but it seems if it is not PROs idea then it can not be right.Regardless of safety or performence.

Tony,

Whats a little fiberglass smoke gonna hurt? JUST KIDDING..

PRO should see that the saftey of the driver should be the number one concern. Hope they come up with some sort of answer to your problem soon. You know Bradenton is just 12 weeks away. That is going to be a tough schedual to keep if you are waiting on them. You know the new car needs to make the first event.

Tony,
I agree with the safety factor. If it is in stock location and it doesnt allow some crazy engine set back I think it would be in the best interest of safety to make an exception in this particular case. However, Tony I want to limit you to about 500 c.i. if they allow you to make it steel.........Just kidding.I hope the powers to be give this consideration or at least some thought before saying no way.I wasnt real happy with the tech folks at the Bowling Green Race but Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they will look at this with an open minded view being it is a safety issue.Good luck with the car and I will see you in Florida with my old beater.

I really appreciate everyone posting here i just want to make sure my car will make it to florida on time for the first race and make it there fitting our rules but this rule is kinda silly i dont want any more set back at all just a firewall exemption for cars with factory fiberglass firewalls we all know there is no advantage at all . well thanks guys i am sure everyone will hear soon on the outcome of this i have been talking to the guys at pro more and more lately so we will see if not i will atleast be in florida with the 67 well thanks alot guys you are all great friends and i hope to see you all in florida.

Hate to break it to you, but if you hate fiberglass as much as you sound like you do, then it would appear that you have made a poor choice in choosing to build and actually sit in one of those disgusting and yet completely fiberglass Corvettes.

kinda reminds me of a something my stepfather recently told me, ya see he hates everything about towing companies and the people who run them,(He says they emit a foul and disgusting odor) about as much as you and those fiberglass people:eek:
see ya later old pal.

thank you i appreciate the comments. and thanks for the parts and the check i will be recieving for the win. There is actually nothing wrong with VFN old PAL i would not consider you an OLD PAL but that is fair. i was actually not talking about your addison based company. I was approached by many other companies in your industry. so if any way your feelings where hurt realize the situation here. The odor that emits from your place of buisness is far greater than the smell of money LOL . but thanks for your response. any more questions or comments can be given directly to me at 630-543-2367 ext.104 thank you
