Howdy,

I am looking for some cam advice for the new motor this year.

I am probably start out in True Street, but I hope my schedual will allow me to step up to Extreme Street before the end of the year.

The motor is a 385 cid small block chevy, 13-1, Dart Iron Eagle heads, power glide, 325/50R/15 Drag Radials, and anything from 4.10's to 4.56's are avaible.

Thanks

Scott

RE; COMP CAMS IS A GREAT SOURCE.

under stand you need to be absoutly HONEST when giving them info.
if you dont know the answer to a question dont guess!! FIND OUT . believe me do your home work on this . you will get far better results .. dont lie about your combo, "egos" here wil only get you crap results.

WHEN IT COMES TO A CAM.. BUILD IT TO YOUR ENGINES EXACT AND SPECIFIC PARTS.
BIGGER ISNT ALWAYS BETTER.
GET THIS INFO BEFORE YOU CALL THEM
bore/stroke. piston to deck hiegth, type of top ie; dome-flat ect.
lifter bore diameter. the lifters index. ( have the lifter bores index'd this will align all the lifters allowing max cam phasing)
pick a lifter type; some classes limit this . find out..
cylinder head material steel/ aluminum. make brand , find out chamber cc's volume, quench.
valve size. diameter int- ex
port flow @ 100" 200" 300" ect. where does the flow stall? this will determine max valve lift.
runner cc"s won't hert to know that.
also valve springs installed hieght. and max lift #s (SPRING)
valve to piston clearance . index this in degre's
intake manifold type
of coarse carb type.size
converter stall-transmission type- axle ratio- tire size
if you choose solid lifters make sure to add/compensate for the rocker to valve clearance.( valve adjustment)
the info shouldnt be hard to get if you research. call the manufacture of @ part u use to get most of this info.
the tech guys will be able to help on phone if something was forgotten or misssing.
good luck ...
