Matt,
Traditionally, MSD True Street is contested entirely on Saturday. Competitors in MSD True Street also recieve a free entry into the Toyo Tire Bracket Challenge. No additional tech inspection is required to run in the bracket race and the True Street competition number issued may also be used in the bracket race. Test and Tune on Friday night is also open to TS competitors.
In answer to your question regarding fiberglas bumpers, I refer you to the rules, posted elsewhere on this site for the True Street category:
BODY RULES:
OEM steel (fiberglass/composite if OEM equipped) body shell required. Aftermarket body kits are permitted. Only permitted lightweight components are hood, front valance, rear valance, and rear trunk lid/hatch. Hood is required, may be made of lightweight material. Hood scoops permitted. Any rear wing permitted. OEM safety glass windows required & must be functional. Lexan prohibited.
As stated, the ONLY lightweight components listed are as above. There is no mention of fiberglas bumpers, therefore, they will NOT be allowed in True Street.
I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you in Joliet!

George,
As long as those watering holes have Gatorade or iced tea, I am in. It's gonna be hot at Joliet. What changes are you referring to, George? I am not aware of any revisions to True Street other than the clarification of radial tire sidewall designations (325mm max) and of no onboard computers after the cruise.
oh... you have GOTTA let your dad run the Vette in True Street!
See ya there!

I have no doubt it will be a Hot one! I am just hoping the track is not a slip and slide like the other track by us was last weekend.... I couldn't get the Camaro down it.... I would have gone to 66 but the Nascar boys are in town and they close it down...
From what I have been told True Street is being run on Sunday (I am sure this will be the biggest field ever) thus there will not be bracket racing available to the True Street guys.....
As far as rule revisions I am not aware of any other than the changes I mentioned above.....
My sponsors kid is going to be at the wheel of the Vette.... Took him out with it and he ran 12.0 like he was bracket racing....

George,
I stand corrected. You were correct about the TS action on Sunday. It appears the meeting will be at 11:00 am with the cruise to follow at 1:00 pm. I will check with James and Charlie and see if TS will have test and tune passes on Friday and Saturday. I will let you know ASAP.

I have a question, I noticed in another post something about nhra liscense and chassis certification for a true street car, is this a mandatory item or just after a certain speed, My local area track is division 5 Ihra and my car falls in the hot rod catagory, none of that is needed, i just sign up and they give me a membership and liscence because the car isnt fast enough that i need to to my laps and have it verified and mailed in with physicals and stuff.
clarification on what exactly i need to run my car in true street is much appreciated, doesnt look like im going to make it this year but next year is a must, I have the rear out of the car rebuilding it and my front rims have yet to show after a month of waiting from centerline. Thanks for all the help, I look forward to meeting you all soon

The chassis cert and license are required as per NHRA rules when running quicker than 10.0 seconds. Someone also said something about being needed when running quicker than 135 mph but I am not sure of that, just of the ET.

Nova73,
Mark is correct about the NHRA license for cars running quicker than 10.0. I found no indication of a license requirement for any cars running faster than 135 mph in the NHRA rulebook, however, if your car is faster than 135 mph, you must have SFI Spec 3.2A/5 jacket and pants as well as SFI Spec 3.3/1 gloves.
NMCA and NMRA use the NHRA rulebook for safety requirements. If you do not have a copy of the NHRA rulebook, you can check their website and read the rules there.
I look forward to meeting you as well.
