Well folks, after chatting with Charmin' Charlie Harmon, I have been dragged from behind my comfy (?) welding table and booked on a flight to Chicago so as to help out with the first ever Super Bowl of Head's Up Drag Racing at beautiful Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. Granted, I am a bit rusty, but I am chomping at the bit to get back into the MSD Ignition True Street saddle and host the largest anticipated field in TS history. I am really excited about this and hope to see all my old aquaintances as well as all the new faces in True Street. Here is a golden opportunity for all the NMRA Hedman Hedder Wild Street competitors to test their mettle (and metal, too) against the toughest and quickest street driven vehicles in the Midwest. This thing is gonna be out off the hook! Bring friends and video cameras as you are NOT going to want to miss any of the action.
Two-time True Street champ, Tony MacDonald is going to be in attendance in an attempt to be the first ever 3-time True Street winner. Currently, there are 8 TS drivers with two wins to their credit, and unless David Furedy or Dan Shipley show up, MacDonald stands a good chance of taking home the first 3-time honor. Who knows? Maybe Paul Ferrucci or Gary Willders will make the long haul from the Northeast to take a stab at a Super Bowl victory and their first 3-time victory. Things are gonna really heat up and I am looking forward to watching all the starting line action.
Good luck to all, and I will see you in Joliet!!!!!
