So... How much horsepower does it take to be competitive in Vortech Extreme street?
This is going to be the class to watch this year with people talking about 8.30's! Good luck to all running the class in 04, I hope to join you guys at the Atco and Maple Grove events this year, see you there!

it would take about 1200 - 1250 HP to run in the 20's at 3150lbs, just a comparison in E/Z street my car weighed 2975lbs on motor i made about 660 and sprayed about 400-425 so basically around 1060 -1085HP the car went 8.41 (in good maple grove air)if 100 lbs adds a tenth at 3300 i would have went 70's now figure out how much HP it will take to pick up .50 i would say you will need to make about 1350-1400 at that weight to go 20's
its not a debate its just my opinion
Don good luck and hope to see you out at the races, Xtreme Street is going to interesting this year. and you'll meet a bunch of great competitors.
See ya

I would like to have a get together Friday night, don't need to put a motor back together after qualifying when i am expecting guest like in Memphis. I was down your way (Disney) for new years and it was awesome, same to you.
Good Night

Bob Curran: I agree with your HP numbers. I bought the new Dyno Sym & Drag Sym Programs and to go 8.50 the computer needed 1200 HP at 3550LBs. That didn't take into account a progressive NOS system so we don't do any back flips. I figure our car will be pretty soft in low gear.
Try going to www.bbnovaracing.com, Kevin Parent's Website, then go in the forum. The suggestions category has a link for a program called Ispell that adds a button to the Internet Explorer tool bar automatically. It will allow you to spell check anything you type in IE. Hopefully you use IE.
I saw your car at Alstons about a year ago, pretty bad ass. They built our car also.

I found a lot more power over the winter but I better start chopping because I am still about 200 lbs over weight and I think this year your going to need to be right on to be in contention for a win.
