Well, here we are again. I am very greatful for successful companies to step up and support the sport that we all love.
But as mentioned in eariler posts still nothing for support of the traveling True Streeters.
I know we'er not the "sexy" big dog class but everyone needs to start somewhere and this is the start.
As mentioned also before, we pay the same for all of our parts and fuel and hotels as everyone else.
How about give the little guy a break for once. The more little guys that come and get hooked the more move up for car counts, the more friends and families sit in the stands and so on and so forth.

Every racer/class deserves to be eligible for some contingency money....Hope they can work something out for your class.

Unfortunatly, they have 'rules' for True Street. I don't understand why, (outside of saftey), what the big deal is. It should be run what you brung ... with the basic, lights, horn, signals, mufflers, registration, insurance & tags. Thats it.
If it can be driven 30 miles & raced, thats a True Street car to me.
The reason there is no BIG payout or contingency awards, I think, is so the people in the local towns will bring out their best & there WON"T be touring True Streeters.
It seem to me that this is a local (a couple of hundred miles around) show your street muscle class.
The only thing I don't agree with is; why limit tire size & chassis design. If a crazy person brings out a R/M Pro Stock & can actually drive it the distance, more power to him.

If you remember some of PRO's earily advertisements of the class a guy was driving a blown Monza. As long as it makes the saftey for the speed and can do the cruise and tech.
Come big or stay home.
My Buick and I will be at ATCO and the Grove maybe one or two more if I can save enough lunch money.

I believe it just had a tunnel ram and no hood. I agree, somewhat. I think you should be able to run any size tire you want as long as it is a DOT tire. I also think Hot Rod magazine is on to something with the pump gas drags. Real street cars should be able to live on the street and that means filling up your gas tank at the corner station. If you want to have race fuel in a small tank for nitrous enrichment then fine, but you should be driving around on pump gas. You should also be completely street legal with all the lights and such. If you want to drive around a car with struts in the front and a 4 link in the back that jars your spine, then more power to you. If I bought a 15 year old pro stock car and put a GM crate motor and carpet in it, I think no one could tell me it's not a street car. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, what he said!!!
Maybe a solution would be to make the entry fee less. From what I understand it is going to cost me $85 to run my car. That is the two day fee and I am only going to be there one day for the race.

I plan on coming to the Memphis and Atlanta race. My car will likely be ready at the end of June, but I don't want to rush.
I'm looking forward to running True Street. I will have my factory interior, pump gas capable ride there.
Does anybody know what the record is (If there is one) for True Street? Who's gone the fastest?
It sure would be nice if PRO stepped up with a little pay-out. Even a check for $500 and no contingencies for "King of the Hill" would be great.
