why do the rules for all classes mandate an OEM style dash? I have an 82 S-10 that I built for competition in street-legal drags, but now that I have found a decent sanctioning body, I can't run in it because I have a custom aluminum dash. Other than that I could pretty much qualify for most of the slower classes. Also, I would like someone to clarif one rule that appears in several classes I have looked into. It says that engines may be relocated but must not touch STOCK firewall. I set the engine in my truck back 3 inches, which required the firewall to be cut out and rebuilt. but to the untrained eye it looks stock, because it was done correctly and carefully. Then engine doesn't touch, but it isn't the stock firewall. I would really like to compete in the PRO series but I'm afraid these little things will keep me confined the the local 1/8th mile. Help?
