Hey Guys,
After doing some serious number crunching for figuring out where my race weight would be for Pro Stock I found that my '79 Trans Am with a 410 inch Oldsmobile Small Block and a Caltrac'd "Stock" rear suspension would have to by in the order of a 3100 lb race weight...or something along those lines. With my stock front subframe reaching that weight is extremely difficult, but Martz Chassis sells a bolt in front clip for 70-81 Camaros and Firebirds. After discussing with the owner, this part retains the stock a-arm location/geometry but uses tubular arms, which ar legal, the original core support bolts up, it uses a rack and pinion steering - legal and has square tube frame rails. It looks very stock when painted but the main advantage is that is weighs about 180 les than stock subframe. This would make it sooooo much easier to reach that weight and I do not see it as breaking the rules since Mustangs are allowed aftermarket K members.

Is the Martz Chassis subframe legal??? Please strongly consider this as I want to run in Pro Stock with my 403 Olds motor....yes it sounds weird, but please consider it.
