What is the exact reasoning for the ruling on the early Novas to run this class? They are limited to a small block with standard type heads and they have to run 9.75 or quicker. Seems a little biased. Have any early Novas showed up to run this class in the past 3 years? How about giving a little wiggle room here. I really like the class and would love to run in it but I'm limited. Any light shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Back in the day, there was very few Novas in SS. They were placed in F/X (factory experimental). As for the heads, you can pretty much run what ever head you would like. They must appear externally the same, so do what ever is needed. You can place the car in Nostalgia Muscle Car if you like and pick the index the car will run.

I would run NMC but the car has ladder bars. I didn't think that was legal in NMC. I'm gonna keep the little motor and the 23* heads and give the 9.75 FX index a shot.

Your correct on the ladder bars in NMC.
I'm glad to hear the Nova will be in F/X.
See you in BG?

Keep your fingers crossed for BG. I'm on a tight budget. I have great help with the car though. If miracles can happen I have the right people to make the miracle happen. Thank god for good friends. I'm hoping to pick up a sponsor or 2 if all goes well. If the Novas were allowed to run 10.00 I wouldn't be having this convo with you...lol! Thanks for your help and your support Mike.

I know how the rules read, but ONLY BIG BLOCKS ARE ALLOWED IN NSS AND FX........THIS IS NOT A SMALL BLOCK CLASS...but the PRO rules were never amended to read correctly....
the Novas, thru 67 only should read , Big block only, F/X only...and all other F/X rules should apply as per engine combo/carbs/injection, alky, etc...
Been trying to get this straightened out for a couple of years, but seems that someone still wants to see this......
These cars should depict the likes of the Big Block, injected cars of the F/X wars.....
Not small blocks...
..with the rules as they are...it's gonna be a long stretch to get a small block on one little 850 into the 9s without killin' it on every pass.......but with a big block and 2 carbs...a no brainer...

I've heard about you Texas Outsider guys! lol! Well, as long as I can get enough time off of work to finish the car I think this little 383 small block may make a believer outta ya. The South Jersey Hit Squad would like to collect some more of that Texas Outsider Bonus cash.....maybe some of that Texas BBQ too. Hope to see ya'll soon. Wish me luck!
