I'm planning to attend the opener race at Bradenton this coming weekend, and I'm undecided on whether I'll be racing either Open Comp or Nostalgia Muscle Car (not sure if I can get my car to run fast enough for the 11.50 index, and can't slow it down enough for 12.00 for NMC, and not sure if I can cut a good enough light for Open Comp 5-tenths pro-tree, thus the toss-up on classes).
I will be arriving Friday to sign-up for membership, tech and contingency. I wanted to sign-up for membership in advance, but was told to do it at the event due to the possibility of not receiving membership card and information before the race date.
From what I've read in the rule book, you receive a competition number based on the class/catagory you are running at . I want to run the Friday test and tune to help me decide on class/catagory. When I first sign-up for membership and enter tech and checking for contingency, can I change catagories/class after the Friday test and tune, or once I pick a class/catagory when I pay entry at the gate am I stuck with it?
Also, do you have to run a permanent number with stickers, or can you use shoe polish for the 1st event (was told shoe polish was allowed for the 1st event)?
