who makes the best flowing race muffler? i was looking for test results and haven't really found any good info.

would be interested what you all have tried and liked and disliked.

i'm looking at 3-1/2" or 4" mufflers.

I've been using Flowmaster Delata Force 1 chambers for along time and I wanna try something new.

Thanks, Jay

I've always preferred Flowmaster for my Mustangs, but Kooks Custom Headers is offering Contingency for their mufflers in some of the PRO classes!!

Call Flowmaster and get info on their Outlaw series of mufflers. Straight-thru design and well built.

Ask for Dale Dotson.

They are in NO way helping out in our street car orginization the last couple of year. no contingency progam. They could be on the list as OUR racing series require mufflers, They used to be big a supporter but they vanished! I know Straightline is a small business trying to grow and would love to be part of the contingency program, Scott will give you a fair price and do what he can for you. But I would only support those that support us in some way. Just calling it as I see it. If not Striaghtline I would look at a set of Cooks, I have no experience with them, but they pay contingency. good Luck on your choice

bob curran, since you run straight mufflers, about how hp's are you losing with them -vs- open exaust, i need a set and i'm very interested in them, running in pro-stock class s.b.c. 420" with same heads as you. thanks.

with test on the dyno, with and without the mufflers we picked up with mufflers on, now we all know the mufflers we use are pretty much straightthru design but they are mufflers, and we saw an increase in back to back pulls. enough to win a race no, but an increase

If I was buying new mufflers I would go with Scott Brown's. He's a great person to deal with and has a good product. I have run Flowmaster's, Dynomax, and the Flowmaster Outlaw's. Regular Flowmasters were .15 or more slower than open exhaust and the straight through mufflers. Did not see an difference between the Dynomax and Outlaws. Where Scott's mufflers have an advantage is in weight. He makes the lightest mufflers I know of at this time. Flowmaster has given good support to Nostalgia Super Stock by sponsoring the Midwest Nostalgia Super Stock Association with mufflers and uniforms.
