WHY CANT YOU HAVE A BELT DRIVE FOR CAR CRAFT STREET RACE
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OVER BELT COMPARED TO CHAIN?

If there is no advantage over a chain, then why run one?

The belt-drive is not considered a standard commonly available, "real world" street component.

gonad ,
it has been on my engine for several years just didn't feel
like having to replace it with a chain.I hope this class trys to base all of its "real world" street components and doesnt change the rules .

We are going to do our very best to keep the 2005 rules for many years to come. One rule that is sure to stay in place will be the timing chain rule.
