I am building a car to run this class, and need help interpreting a few things. I am about to have my intercooler mounted inside the car, on the passenger floor. Rules state that you must run 2 seats, driver and passenger.
6.5 SEATS
SEATS: Upholstered OEM or aftermarket seats (2) in stock location is required. Rear seat may be removed when roll bar/roll cage is installed; area must be carpeted or upholstered.
Can the passenger seat be "trimmed" for a larger intercooler, or can the cooler be in the seat itself?
I am also having concerns about this...
7.5 FIREWALLS
Firewall: Stock, unaltered firewall required. For Chevrolet Corvette, only if OEM equipped with stock fiberglass firewall; firewall may be replaced with a flat steel firewall, no thinner than .024, located in the OEM stock location. Replacement steel firewall must be one piece, fully attached along perimeter, and permanent in nature.
I had planned on installing a removable pannel with 4 inch bulkheads for the intercooler tubing to pass through the firewall. Will this be legal for the class?
These may seem like stupid questions, but I don't want to do anything to disqualify me from racing in your series.
Thanks,
Don Barnett
