Bob,
Hey, thanks to you guys. If it wasn't for this, I'd have a normal life . . . (guess we all would).
Sportsman Drag Racing is only available on the newstand. It's poly bagged with popular Hot Rodding every other month. You can generally find it at 7-11's, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, etc.
See you at the races!

Thanks Rod....
Just got a message from Andrea Winick that included with all of the "heavy hitters" from NSS and NMC, there is a shot of a certain red Ford out of Frisco, Tx on page 41. No mention of the motley crew that campaigns this ole Ford, but it is included in the "Hook it UP" article........

By golly, I forgot all about that. That car's got a trunk lid big enough to have Thanksgiving dinner on. I'll see if we can't get the rest of your car in a photo sometime down the road <grin>.

Hope to see ya soon Rod...
We are bustin' ass to get everything ready for this season..
Have Ryan Bush's little Maverick re-skinned after that rollover in Memphis...it will sport a new color for this season...I noticed tonite that we have an excess of Glacier White on the shelf and while Ryan was on the horn, I informed him of the color change...It will still feature the little bit of checkerboards on the sides in red, but will look somewhat different....
Working to get our engine freshened up...parts are lying here and we are trying to find time to get it back together...working on a couple more NSS cars that will show up later in the season and we will be bringing a third RED car along also...With our "Texas Thunder Red Ford and Damon Kuhns' "Fugly", we will be assisting Dave Schultz (current owner of the Texas Big Bird) by constructing him a 65 Coronet for the NSS wars...It also will wear the Texas Thunder livery of Red and some "Texas" graphics...the
"Rude Dodge" will sport a TexasThunder built 540 inch, Boninfante clutched Jerico 4 speed like the rest of our cars...Hope to have all of them on hand by the Bowling Green race...

Rod,
Mark forgot to tell you that they have also been sneaking buick projects in shop after hours (maybe even in the daytime) I also heard a rumor that an AMC AMX might find its way to their shop later in 2004.
Congrats and thanks to you Mr. Short for a cool magazine ! It needs to fill the void and be put out every month on its own ! I am ready to send my subscription money .
See you all at the race track !

..congrats on the great season...see ya soon.
Mark
..Do you need any decals for the cars?...have a new set or two of the TexasOutsiders avaliable...

David,
Thanks for the kind words. There are a lot of people involved with this from almost every sanctioning body and we're working to add more.
And let's not forget Comp Cams, Weld, McLeod, Mr. Gasket, Hedman Hedders, TransDapt, Hamburger's, AutoMeter, Scoggins-Dickey, S&W Race Cars, Scat Crankshafts, H&H Trailers, Moroso and Mahle Motorsports for their help with this, too. (am I starting to sound like a NASCAR driver??)
As for Mark coming out of the closet with his Buicks, you know that people like that never come 100% clean. he's probably got a Sport Compact stuck back somewhere in that shop, too (boy, bet I'm gonna pay for that one!!). <very big grin>

Yea, we get broke and hungry....did a couple of hondas last year...came up with a couple of things that the ricers may have missed....added a couple of "traction" devices and had good success with them.......
for a look try www.sindicateracing.com

Oh, by the way Rod..for the "nascarbit"...we are helping the cause by running and recommending our customers use..
Comp Cams, Mr. Gasket, Autometer and SCAT. These products are performing well in our setup in the ole RED FORD and also in "Fugly"...I may mention that we are also using Boninfante Clutches in all 3 of our team cars and are working with Nick to develop this new style of single disc clutch for the NSS cars. Jim McKenzie and his "Ole Reliable II" 62 Chevy PRO NOSTALGIA car set the record with one of the "new" Boninfante clutches.

now that david let the secret out youre working on puicks and amc products. i bought a chevy yesterday. it went against my mopar heart but its was a bargain and couldnt pass it up. a 66 chevy2 non post. new floors new full quarters new trunk pan, and a new fiberglass front end. for 1200 bucks it will make a great nitrous exploder. put the parts on, throw some lime green paint on it and a hand grenade motor. should make for an interesting local 10.5 tire car.
waiting to head south. its frigin cold.
saw everyone in sportsman issue-congrats.
see ya
