I have a 1972 torino whitch is a full frame car. that I would like to run in xtreme street. my question is how extensive mods can I do to the cross member that goes under the engine. like clearence it for header tubes? or would I be able I be able to cut it out and install a 1 5/8 round tubing in it's place, and attatch the motor mounts and lower control arms to it instead. so I would have clearence for oil pan and headers. also can I replace the front upper and lower control arms with aftermarket tubler arms. Thank You

Are you sure your car is a full frame? I just put in a set of frame connectors in a 1970? I don't know of any aftermarket frame kits for your car, but if you do, please sent me the info. If there is nothing avalible, you must retain the factory frame rail. All the stock componets must be in stock location. You can modify the crossmember for oil pan clearance only. If you need to nocth it for header clearance, as long as it is not major cutting and just minimal, that will be OK.

Thank you for your reply. 1972 was the first year for a full frame torino. 70 and 71 were unibody. the notching for oil pan and headers is minimal modifications.
